Engineer Becker presented land exchange offer between Crown Zellerbach and Jeffersm
County and Resolution D-15 authorizing exchange to be negotiated.

.
WHEREAS, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson
County that, as a part of its road development and expansion program that a gravel
pit be acquired, and the financial interest of all tax payers of Jefferson County,
it further appears that instead of making purchase of those needed lands and premises,
or by proceeding in condemnation, that the provisions of Chapter 4, Laws of Washing~on,
1963, as amended by Chapter 21 of Laws of Washington, 1965, be invoked, and in
accordance therewith, the Board finds:
(1) That Crown Zellerbach Corporation, a Nevada Corporation, is the
owner of the following described real estate in Jefferson County, Washington:
Beginning at the southeast dorne6 of the SW~ of the swk of Sec. 32,
T. 28N. R1E., W. M.; thence N 1 48' E along the east boundry of
said swt of theSW~ of Sec. 32 a distance of four hundred sixty-five
and no tenths (465.0) feet; thence N 89040' W a distance of four
hundred sixty-five and no tenths (465.0) feet; thence S3l048' W a
distance of four hundred sixty-five and no tenths &465.0) feet to
the south boundary of said section 32; thence S 89 40' E along the
south boundary of said section 32 a distance of four hundred sixty-
five and no tenths (465.0) feet to the southeast corner of the SWt
of the SWt. of Sec. 32, T. 28 N., R. 1 W., W. M.
Said traft containing five (5) acres, more or less.
Together with an easement for ingress and egress over certain other
lands owned by Crown Zellerbach Corporation.
(2) That Jefferson County has acquired by tax foreclosure the folmowing
described real estate, to-wit:
An undivided ~ interest in the east ~ of the SW~ of the SW~ of Sec. l7,
T. 30 N., R. 1 W., W. M., less existing railroad right of way.
WHEREAS, this Board of County Commissioners has found and determined that
the value of the County real property and bf the privately owned real property is of
approximately equal value, and
WHERaAS, this Board has been further informed and advised that the said
Crowp Zellerbach Corporation is willing to convey to Jefferson County its privately
owned real prdperty in exchange for the county owned real property, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED
I
That the Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson County be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to take such steps through the medium of the Superior
Court of the State of Washington for Jefferson County to the end that the intent
and purpose of this resolution be aarried out and the proposed exchange of lands
effectedf
ADOPTED this Jrd day of July, 1967.
