Mr. Huntingford asked Mrs. Butts the status of the clean-up committee
the Chimacum Park. The County is waiting to go ahead with grading. Mrs.

After reviewing Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone requests (1) to bury telephone
cable along south and north sides of Oak Bay Road located in Section 7 and 18, Township
29 N, R 1 E, W. M. (2) to place buried cable along North Cove Road, Elwood Avenue and
Lake Avenue located in Section 16, Township 30 North and (3) to bury cable along south
side of Oak Bay from Ar.derson Road u easterly all as shown on attached maps, :'

Motion made by Commissioner Arey, and Seconded by Commissioner Kelly and unanimously
approved to approve requests (1) and (2) but to return request ()) for correction as tho:i
roads were incorrectly named and no road numbers. j'
. William Daly, Prosecuting Attorney, appeared to protest the investment of County
Residual Funds as required by 40th Legislature for the benefit of the Current Expense
Fund. He felt the County Finance Committee was wrong. ~w. Huntingford pointed out
to Mr. Daly that the Finance Committee's interpretation of the Law was correct, and
a copy of the law, with the attorney /general's opinion as to its interpretation was
given to Mr. Daly for his review. Mr. Daly after review said the County Finance
Committee was legally correct in their actions.

Glenn Abraham again appeared with ~~. Bob Harper and Dr. Scheyer in.regard to thei~
quest for access to their Quilcene property. Commissioner Huntingford conveyed the '
telephone message received from Mrs. Pattsner, prior.to their ar.rival, in which she
stated access could be worked out without county action, she felt she could communicate
with Dr. Scheyer rather than Mr. Harper. County.action will be held in abeyance until
the satisfactory outcome of access.
Mr. Abraham appeared for Stanton Carter in regard to when the County will reroute
road in front of his property and the placing of a ,lIDead End" sign so people will not
use his yard for a turnaround.
~w. Becker reported that in response to Tri Area Business Club's request there
will be a light installed at Ness's Corner as soon as proper arrangements are completed
with Puget Power. Negotiations are underway to replace theblinker lights at Hadlock
and Chimacum. . Mr. Becker's investigation determined there is no present need for
lights at Matts Matts.
Duane Clocksin's letter written in behalf of Planning Commission was approved
with reservation. Mr. Kelly moved and y~. Huntingfcrd seconded motio~ to approve
the letter and recommend it be ,mailed to pertinent parties. Ytr. Areyobjected.
Motion was passed by majority vote.
Public Notice received from U. S. Army Engineers regarding request ~o place
bouy in Strait of Juan de Fuca near Protection Island.
Letter read from the Jefferson County Historical Society commending Tom Heinbaugh
of the Court House staff for his consideration. and courteousy in showing in showing
visitors around the Court House.

Summary of the Urban Arterial Board organization meeting and program was received
by Commissioners. Also, notives of Intragency Committee for Outdoor RAcreation
meetings to be held and request for 1967 Budget from Ferry County Commissioners.
Charles Odegaard, Director of Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, --
wrote the Board regarding specific development projects for Jefferson County for which
appropriations wore made include:

Being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned for the
commissioners to inspect road prograas. Mr. Becker and Mr. Huntingford will att~nd
meeting in Longviaw Washington on July lath and 19th.
