Notion made by Walter Kelly and seconded by Lyall Arey to put the original requested parcel consisting of 2 and 2/3 lots (Lots 2, 4 and a portion'of Lot 6, Block 92, OrigiBal Townsite of City of Port Townsend), up for County Sale. The Treasurer will be so advised. Letter was read from Frank A. Erb, Chairman of Jefferson County Co~rdinating Chairman, regarding and complimenting the County Planning Commission on their proposed recreational needs 'and future plans. Commissioners received copy of letter from ~~. Prince, Mrs. Pattsner's attorney, to Glenn Abraham, Harper and Scheyer's attorney, regarding easement~. through ~~s. Pattsner's property in Quilcene. Representatives from Triton Cove Development stopped to see if Engineer Becker had received plans from their Engineer (the plans have not been received). Sheriff Bob Hansen requested Civil Defense monies be transferred to special fund. ~~. Daly felt this couldn't be taken out of County Auditor's hands. Sheriff Hansen will contact the State Auditor's office regarding procedure. Commissioners adjourned to attend a noon meeting at Hadlock House. The Board or Jefferson County Commissioners met in regular session with Chairman George Huntin~ford and Commissioner Lyall Arey present. Commissioner Kelly in Washington' D. C. Pete Hildebrandt, Public Healthe Department, appeared in regard to the Air Polution Control Legislation XI~r~YX~1~~ passed in 1967 and known as the \'/ashington Clean Air Act. (SUB. SB 46) (refer t,o Volume G, Page 1633). In 1969 a twelve county air polution control district with King, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Clallam and Jefferson among others in the twelve county district, iX~~ B~~RKXRMXXKaKxRx will form a district for air pollution control unless separate districts are set up by that date. Would be better for the smalle11 counties to form their own district as their problems are not as intensified as in the larger counties. It was suggested that Cla~lam, Jefferson, Mason, Thurston, Grays Harbor and Lewis Counties form their own Olympic District where thete problems would be of a like nature. Local money is ba~ed on a per capita basis. State and Federal Grant monies available to activate Districts. County Commissioners must hold a public meeting regarding merger with other counties. One commissioner will be appointed along with one representative from the City - set up budget procedure. County Commissioners responsibility for initial action only. Letter will be sent regarding Commissioners recommendation (pulp mills and aluminum mills to be excluded from local districts and under State control) and tho boundaries of the area we would like to form.
