The meeting was c&lled to order by the Chai,rrnan George Huntingf'ord with all
members of the Board of County Commissioners present.
Budget discussion came before tha Board. The insurance for emplofees was dis-
cussed in relation to employee benefits. Auditor's office is taking pol of the
County offices to see how employees fael about employee insurance benefits. Deputy
Auditor Virginia Hansen reported that the Courthouse employees voted against employee
insurance on a 5 to 1 ratio. Lyall Arey moved and Walter Kelly secondGd motion to give
county employees a flat ~2t.OO (twenty dollars) a month raise. It was unanimously
passed. After ca~efully reviewing each and every budget submitted, the Board of
County Commissiorters accepted the revised budgets as follows; in accordance with the
provisions of the law, and due notice having been published in the Port Towns8nd Leader
that on the first Monday in October, 1967, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners,
would meet for the purpose above stated, and after hearing from the various organizations
representing tax payers! and having heard all matters in connection with the budgets, !,
it was ordered the tax evies be set as follows and the following budgets approved upon I
motion made by Lyall Arey, seconded by Waltar Kelly, and unanimously approved and the
Resolution adopting same signed by the Members of the Board.
The Current Expense Fund Budget in the amount of $3l2,805.00; the Final County
Road Fund Budget in the amount of $7466339.00; and the Equipment Rental and Revolving
Fund Budget in the amount of $2l2,000. 0 were approved as attached:
