Neeting called to order by Chairman George Huntingford with Mro Walter Kelly 1
present. Commissioner Arey on vacation in Florida.
Two applications for the IIIII~ Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Fund. One in the I
amount of $70.00, the other $50.00. After investigating the applicants, the authorizati n
was approved. II
Bennett Gale of National Parks was in the area and stopped to see the commiSSioner~.

Richard L. Stuhr and Charles Little appeared in regard to land development on il
' Protection Island. Reviewed the lot layout with Commissioners (approx. gOO lots) and I
'I advised them their development would be strickly for recreational use. They will have I:
caretakers, possibly two families. Said their water system would consist of $everal II,
reservoirs, filter system and they planned to take advantage of the rainfall for additio~-
al source of water. Have 4 well, approximately 1$0' deep with very little water. State
their preliminary plan will be presented in from six to eight weeks. Commissioners II
recommended they check with Olympic Health Department for O. K. asut their water and ;:
septic problems prior to submission for preliminary hearing II

Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 23$ of the regular session and Chapter 61 il
of the extraordinary session of the 1967 ~'lashington State Legislature, this Board of I!
County Commissioners has declared and does now declare the intention of Jefferson County Ii
of combining with the counties of Clallam, Grays Harbor, Mason, Thurston and Pacific Ii
so as to form whill.t is to be known as the OLYl\lPIC COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROLi

John Heiber appeared in behalf of his proposed tideland and marina development.
Said Veterans' Plat property owners dedicated him the tidelands that they did not own

WHEREAS, UNDER AND BY VIRTUE OF THE '1'ERMS OF 'l'HAT CER'l'AIN AGREEMENT made and 'I
entered into by and between the County of Jefferson, herej.na fter designated as the :1
"County", and the State of i'lashington, acting through its Department of Highways and t.he ,I
Director thereof, under date of January 2, 1969, the State will act as agent for the
County in the participation of said County with the Bureau of Public Roads under the
provisions of the Federal Aid Roaa Act of 1944, for the construction of Federal Aid
i, Project No. S-0497 (7), Quilcene - Center Road, copy of 'i,hich agreement is hereunto
attached, now referred to by such reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof,
now, therefore,
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the said agreement be and the same is hElreby r'ntified
and approvedjand
BE 1'1' FUR'l'HER RESOUr.ED that authorization is hereby l?runted for the" r~servation
of an umount of fifteen thousand one hundred fifteen und 75/100 Dollars (~1~,115.7~)
from monthly fuel tax allotments, being un amount not u in excess of the money reason-
ably anticipated to accrue to the County in the Motor V('Jh:lcle F'und during the currant
biennium as ,the balance of the estimated participat:l.ng uho.ra (lnd CClats of t.he County
in the above-mentioned project, for the use of the TJi1'ect,or of HighwaY13 to defray the
costa incurred in the performance of the aforesaid l."llquClsted work; and upon completion
of the aforesaid work, payment having been made therefor, 'and a Btutament having been
! furnished to the County, authorization is made to reloaae to the County an;
unexpended balance of the amount reserved by this reoolution. The amount of Federal
Aid participating funds will be credited to the County when received from the Bureau
of J!lublio Roads.
