Jack E. Winn professional Forester, who agreement was entered into with our
assessor and commissioners last June, appeared in regard to an extension of time on
completing his contract due to inclement weather. It was unamimously agreed the cruise
would be completed as specified by the end of March.
Bid was opened for the Tractor-Backhoe-Loader. There was only one bid received
and after analysing the bid, Er~ineer Becker felt the machinery was fairly priced.
Lyall Arey moved and Walter Kelly seconded motion to accept the bid to ~urchase the
equipment from Megorden l~chinery Company, Clearwater, Washington, for ~4,000.OO plus
sales tax of ~180.00 for total bid price of $4,180.00.' .
John Heiber appeared requesting ~1ritten permission to widen County road by his
Southpoint development. County abandoned strip of road which leaves the triangle of
land he sold Marge and Jack Shortleyabout 3/4's in the water. Becker advised that i€
the commissioners give permission to Mr. Heibel', that each road or project be separately
written permissions. .
60mmissioners gave ~w. Becker permission to go to Trails End and supervise the
improvements on County property.
Frank Erb of the local Labor Council and Jefferson Count~ Labor Coordinating
Committee'petitions for reduction of bridge toll on Hood Canal Bridge, appeared with
Mayor Frank Smith of Port Townsend and James Moody to request Commissioners sign the
petitions vrlth lfuyor Smith for local publicity shots.
Ken Reoh, Northwest Equipment Company, Sequim, the new owner of Massey-Ferguson,
Garrett Tree Farmer Agency, brought in a late bid on Tractor-Backhoe-Loader. Bid
opening was held at 11:00 a.m. as scheduled and bid awarded at that time. ~~. Reoh
did not appear until 2:00 p.m.
There being no further business before the Board, . the meeting was adjourned.

The Honorable Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with George
Huntingford and Walter Kelly present. Mr. Arey was delayed until 11: 30 Ji.m.
