Walter Kelly moved, Lyall Arey seconded motion to approve the redistricting
necessitated by the Congressional redistricting as presented by Auditor Temple, as
follows:
1. That portion of Tarboo and. Shine precincts lying south of boundry
lines between Township 28 N, Range 1 E. \'1. M. and Township 27 N,
Hunge 1 E. ~'1. ['.l. and between TO'IInship 2$ N, Hange 1 W. W. M. and
To'til1ship 27 N Hanc;e 1 ':1. W. M. to become one absentee precinct
due to sparsely scattered population and geographic impracticability
of a central polling place. (adjacent precincts could not be
consolidated due to the fact they are in ~ different commissioner's
district) Precinct to be known as 1'IlORNDIKE precinct.
2. That portion of 'l'arboo precinct lying north of boundry line. between
Township 28N, hange 1 .'1. ~". M. and Township 27 N, Range 1 .w. VI. M.
to consoli.date with the existing Genter precinct.
3. 'l'hat portion of Shine pvecinct lyi~g north of boundry line of
'lownship 28 N, Hange 1 E. N, ,Ii... andlo\'Hlship 27 N, Range 1 E. :'1. IiI.
and that portion of Port Ludlow precinct lying directly south of
Sections I., 5 a.nd 6, 'J:oltmship 2$ N, Hange 1 E. \'1. N. shall be
known as PORT LUDLOW I Precinct.
4. That portion of Port Ludlow Precinct lying north of the south
boundry lines of Sections 4, 5 and 6 Township 28 N, Hange 1 E. \'1. leT.
shall be known as PORT, LUDLOW II Precinct.
The above will suffice the changes necessitated by redistricting,. will not
necessitate Commissioner redistricting at present and will ease the possible overload
of PUnT LUDL01tl growth,. "'1e "1111 retain the present number of 18 county precincts.
Deinb no further business before the Board, the meeting .'las adjourned so the
Commissioners could inspect road progress.
