The Honorable ;Joard of .lefferson County Commis1;>ioners met in regular session with
all members present.
Mr. Walcott of Able Pest Control appeared to allswer complaints regardinG the
Quilcene Dump... rat infestation. Said there had been an inexporicHlced mlHl on the
route previously and that he would resume the route him:lelf'. J~nGilleer Uecker stated
th':lt the r<.:ts \~ere so prevcllent that there bus beon numerous people coine out to
shoot them.. It has been foared that someone could be hurt by u struy bullet. lhe
Commissioners feH there should be an udJustment of three months billing on the Quilcene
Dump. i'.fr. \'/alcott will talk to bookkeeping department of Able recurding adjustment.
Auditor will authorize payment of last three months billing less the chun:::e for the
Quil cene Dump.
Bob Flarity and Clinton Porter of the Ghimucum School District appeared regarding
a school problem. Commissioners were asked if the county would blacktop and fence
the area across the road from the County Park if the school would Give the County the
land, to be used by the school for their recreation and physical education program.
Commissioners had to give a negative answer. They .will allow the grader to go in
and level an area S1ll!.table for Z;\ track area..
11 :00 a.m. bid call for clearing and grubbing 1. 5~J~ miles of Jefferson County
Road No. 9, Thorrldyke Hoad, Thorndyke Lake Section, in accordance with special plans
and provisions and the standard specifications.
Bids were opened during open session and Engineer Becker was asked to review the
t,\'IO 10'0'1 bids. After review, ],jr. becker stated they were all in order and low bid
was presented to Einar A. Nielsen, 2626 Porter Street, Enumclaw, Washington, 98022,
in the total amount of $9,086.15.
Ordinance i10. XXIV, levying a lib excise tax on real estate transfers in accord-
ance with RCW 2$.45 as amended by Section 1 of Chapter 149, Laws of 1967, Ex. Session,
~lso provides for taxation of certain leases containing options to purchase. A new
Ordinance with the revised provisions was necessitated as it also changes the tax from
