A special meeting of the Jefferson County Board of CO\:lnty, Commissioners was
called to order by Chairman George Huntingford wi.th all members present. The purpose
of the meeting being to execute and approve the following I
RESOLUTION NO. 14-6$
RESOLUTION TO ASSUlfJE OBLIGATION OF LOCAL COOPERATION
CUUNTY OF JEFFERSuN IN 'l'HE MAT'l'ER OF BANK PROTECTION ON CLEJl.R\'iATER
STATE OF WASHINGTON RIVER IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASlIINGTON

WHEREAS, the United States has made available funds for a project for bank
protection on Clearwater River in Jefferson County, Washington, Substantially as shovm
drawing No. E-37-1-6, in 3 sheets, dated 1 May 196$, attached hereto and made a part
hereof; and
W1EREAS, In accordance with the provisions of Section 14 of the Flood Control
Act, approved 24 July 1946, and pertinent administnative determinations such funds
cannot be used until a responsible local agency has given assurances satisfactory to
the Secretary of the Army that it will:
a. Furnush Idthout cost to the United States all lands, easements, disposal
areas, rights-of-way, and rights- of -entry, including gravel and rock borrow sources,
and perform all necessary alterations to utilities. To preclude any delays to the
Government's \'lOrk, any use of borrow sources~the15 shall be limited only to the extent
that it will not interfere "nth the Government's work contemplated by this resolution;
and .
b. Hold the United States free from any claims for damages arising out of the
construction; and
c. lf~intain and operate the project works after construction, in accordance
with regulations prescribed by the ,Secretary of the Army; and
d. Prevent any encroachment on the completed work; and
e. Pay all costs in excess of $50,000.00; and
f. lvlake a ",,38,000.00 cash contribution prior to 3 Ju.ne 1968, which is the
presently estimated cost in excess of i50,000.00.
WHEREAS, .The Board of Jeffer;:o n County Commissioners is empowered by the laws of
the State of Washington to furnish the local cooperation above set forth, and to levy
taxes in the amounts necessary to fulfill the terms of cooperation.

Nmr, THEREFORE, BE I!l. RESOLVED BY the Beard of County Commissioners of Jefferson
County, Washington, that said County does hereby assume and agree to perform the above-
named obligations; and there is hereby granted to the United States of America, its
agents and its contractors, the right to enter on and use any lands owned by or under
the control of said County for the purposes of constructing the project. . .
DATED THIS 29th day of May, 196s, at a special meeting and is a part of the
minutes of this meeting.
