Meeting called to order by Chairman George Huntingtord with all members present.
Howard Riddell ot C\\pe Geo1:ge Development appeared regarding cape George Village 'I
Diviaion No.7, to ask the Commissioners to approve the plat tor recording. Auditor as~ed
Mr. Riddell it hca could recall the name of tte Dian who accompanied Mr. Allan Tonnen ot:
the Real Bstate Division on his trip to Cape George in rE/9ard to water situation. Mr.
Riddell said two men (not one a8 intimated on Sept. 3rd) accompanied Mr. Tonnon to cape
Gao~ge on August 31at. This time ha ~aid they were not there on the water system or
the Village as mantioned on the earlier date. Mr. Riddell said the t'~m ot Hill and
Bngman reportl'was sent to the Real Bstate Division. (Mr. Riddell's statement was not
clear here).

Jim Meehan, cape George Colong, asked Mr. Riddell to explain why he is platting
additional divisions, when the developer8 had promised the homeowners they would do no
more sUbdividing at Cape George at.ter Division 5... Mr. Meehan requested that the
County COh~issioners hold ott;on any otticial action until the Cape George difticulties
are settled. Commit~ee ~rom cape George expressed grave concern to the commissioners
that the Colony and Village developments were overextended tor the tacilities ~vailable
and promised. Mr. Ridd~ll felt none of this was pertinent to the acceptance of Cape
Gaorge Village, Division No. 7. ~Ie said he promised separate water system ~or this
Division. Water pipes must be of adequate size to furnish water to the entire Division.
Mr. Meehan objected to this being made ~ part of the Development known as Cape George
Village and Colong for road and water system upkeep. Mr. Andrews of Cape George
expressed the view that Cape George water system transcript trom cape George engineer
to Health Department (State ot Washington); to Real Estate Division was recommendation
and confidential and not for public release at this time. Mr. Meehan gave the Board
ox Commissioners the Rules and Regulations of State Board of Health relating to public
water 5uppliQS and aoked tor compliance before commissioners approve ~ision No.7.
COMmissioners advised Mr. Riddell that permission would be held in abeyance until
compliance is met.
ds Representatives ~rom the Quilcene Community Club appeared to ask the Commissioners
for financial assistance in acquiring twostreet lights.
Bob DeSkins, Port Ludlow appeared with Fire District No. 3's 1969 Budget and
a supplemental to the 1968 Budget to show Pope .and Talbot donation for new fire engine.

Owne~s of the ~~istling Oyster Tavern and the Valley Tavern again appeared
regarding amusement machine licneses Ior their own privately owned establishments.
Commissioners felt it should be held in abeyance until 1969. Requested the Clarks and
Yackulics to check with Mr. Daly on technicalities.
Bid opening for Thorndyke Road Construction was held with the following

M~. Becker reviewed the bids and upon his recommendation Commissioner Arey moved
and Commissioner Kelly seconded motion to award bid to Surace.
Bennstt Gale And S. T. Carlson of. Olympic National Park appear.ed to request a
moeting with the Commiasioners torFriday, October 11, 1968 in regard to wilderness area
in the Olyillpic National Park. Thb being a 111Atii!ltactory date with the commissioners,
it was so ar~anged with a public hearing to be held in the Court Room later in the
day, so the public would be intormed ot thair plan.
Motion m~de by Commisoioner Krey, seconded by Commissioner Kelly to go out for
bid tor a tront-end loader.
John Doubek appeared before commissioners in regard to purchasing a lOKW
emorgency power generator through governmant surplus and using civil Detenso tunds
tor that purpoGo.. Ken Brown will do tho i~atallation work for setting it up in the
boiler room at tho courthousG. Eotimate cost ot 9onerator $200.00; cost ot installAtion
$250.00. Him proposal met with tho ftppzov&l ot the commiB~ionors.
