thereon as by law provided.

the Standard Road and Bridge Specifications ot the State of Washington as adopted by
this Board.

The commissioners adjourned to the Assessor's office to meet with Jack Binn, the contract
forester, to review work done to date.

Assessor James Sofie advised the Commissioners that starting the first of the year
George McCleary of the Treasurer's office will be on his staff as appraiser I apprentice
and assistant office man.ager.
Resolution No. 36-68 was approved and adopted as follows:

Whereas, responsibility of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office have progress-
ively become more exacting by virtue of court decisions concerning criminal law and
rights of accused,
and WHEREASs apathetic attituedes have generated and increased in the use of
dangerous drugs and narcotics,

and WHEREAS, to properly execute responsibilities of the office, the Sheriff
and Deputies were required to attend schools and seminars for orientation,
and WHEREAS, the attendance of schools and seminars required regular personnel
to be absent from the county,
and WHEREAS, the absence of regular personnel imposed additional duty on those
remaining, it was necessary to employ extra help,
and WHEREAS, by virtue of the above circumstances, the Salaries and Wages
portion of the Sheriff's 1968 Operating Budget has been exceeded in the amount o~
$546.00,

and WHEREAS, unfor~seen expenditures relative to Sheriff's Department Vehicle
Maintenance has created a deficit of $750.00 in the Operation and Maintenance portion o~
the Sheriff's 1968 Operating Budget,
and WHEREAS, IT was necessary to purchase a new clothes dryer for the jail
laundry use, thereby generating a Capitol Outlay deficit in the amount of $397.05,
and WHEREAS, above circumstances could not have been foreseen,
BE IT RKSQL~~~1HAT~$546.00 be transfer~ed from monies in the Current Expense
Fund to the Salaries and Wages portion of the Sh~riff's 1968 Operating Budget,
and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that monies in the amount of $750.00 be transferrm
from Current Expense in the operatIon and Maintenance portion of the Sheriff's 1968
Operating Budget,
and BB IT FUR~mR RESOLVED, that monies in thQ amount of $397.05 be transferrd
f.rom the Current Expense into the capitol Outlay portion of tho Sheriff's 1968 oper~
ating Budget.
