II " SEAL BOARD OF JBFFBRSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS onor ~or and Board ~ollowing The adjournment of the BkmKD meeting completed Commissioner Lyall Arey 22 years of service as a Jefferson County Commissioner. He will be missed by his co-workers and long remembere4 by his constituents for his long and faithful service in their behalf. January 10, 1969 Meeting called to order with all members present, including A. M. "Bud" O'Mear" newly elected commissioner for District No.1. Gene Hansen and Don Churchill appeared regarding a request for vacation on road off Oak Bay. Bngineer Becker asked Mr. Churchill if he intended to plat the land he is requesting vacation for. Also, what the present status of the coyle Peninsula property that Mr. Churchill owns. Mr. Becker recommended the road not be vacated due to the fact that his intent to plat or replat is not clear. Becker suggested that the water situation be resolved pr~or to vacation and replating. Gene Hansen advised Commissioners that he had talked to the Fire Commissioners in regarding the vacancy on the commission. He will meet with them further and they will submit a recommendation to fill the unexpired term on the Commission. Engineer Becker appeared with Chuck Little, and Janet Grayson of Protection Island corporation to request approval of the Protection Island Plat. Becker pointed out the numerous improvements and the approval of the Olympic and State Health Dept. rega~d th9 barging or the potable water supply, approval of the water storage and approval Of the sanitary provisions. Commissioner Arey moved, Commissioner Kelly seconded motion to approve the first plat of Protection Island. It was unanimously approved. Resolution No. 37-68 was approved as follows: ~ RBSOLUTION NO. 37-68 This matter coming on to be heard this day upon the county Road Bngineer's report with respect to the vacation and abandonment of those portions of county roads set forth in Resolution No. 30-68 adopted the 21st day of October, 1968, and it appearing to the Board of County Commissioners that notice of hearing upon said Engineers report has been posted and published for the time and in the manner provided by law, proof of such posting and publication being now on file herein, and said Board having proceed.d to consider the report of the Bngineer, together with the o~her evidense adduced, and being fUlly advised in the premises, does now f.ind and determine (1) That those portions hereinafter des~ribed are not useful as part of the county road sy~tem; (2) That the public will be benofitted by the vacation thereof, NOW THnRRFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is HEREBY ORDERED that That portion of the Oak Bay road, County Road No. 10, more particula~ described as follows: beginning at a point on the west boundary of Area No. 2 of the Plat of Port Ludlow No. 1 thencel southwesterly to a point lying S 7017-19" E a distance of 55.57 feet from the southwest corner of Lot 23, Area 5, of the plat of Port Ludlow No.1. lying be and the same are hereby vacated and abandoned.
