Mr. Chandler asked for an ans.er to Mr. Brands question.
Mr. Kelly said work would be done b~fore summer (school is put), and was confirmed
by Bngineer Backer.
The Auditor requested the boaed to purchase a tape recorder if the public WAS going to
require verbctim ~inutes ~or the record.
Mr. Nordby reported culverts were put in above Turner Road in 1956 inadequate and should
be checked.

.Jerr~' Getz appeared to Bequest the use of County equipment on the week end, with
volunteer helo, to haul dirt. Drivers will be volunteers from County Road workers, so
no insurance problem., Jerry Getz will co-ordinate with Mr. Becker.
'.J~ckHensel appeared to say he has sold quite a bit o~ property in Irondale area.
Mr. Bensel has taken property on trade in Seattle area.
Mr. Hensel said th~t he has made high price trades, and that his purchasers have
been informed that they paid too much for their property and he requested that all
ofrices~be advised that they are not to comment to purchasers on the price they pay
for property.

Mr.Bec!ter appeared to reqqest Commissioners action on closure of County Road
No. 304 to 1(~ded trucks, as he fears for safety of the road as it is, in dander of
sliding and is dangerous to life and limb of loaded trucks if they travel on it.
Prosecuting Attorney Daly presented a memorandum to the Board regarding the pumping
of the Kivley well at Hadlock, by the Jefferson County P.U.D. No.1. It was deemed
advisable that Co. Eilg. Becker attend and observe.
It was so moved by George Huntingford and seconded by'Bud O'Meara. Mr. Daly
emphasided the importance of water calibration and possibly the combined efforts of
County, P.U.D., and other interested groups, in jointly pooling their efforts in behalf
of water exploration to increase the domestic water supply in Eastern Jefferson County.
Tom Heirlbaugh appeared in regard to a water leak above the Engineer',s office. He
felt it would be hard to locate as it may be coming in between the flashing,(windb10wn).
Walt Kelly will contact firms to appear and give estimates.
George Huntingford moved and Bud O'Meara seconded a motion to authorize Tom
Heinbaugh to'hire someone to take care of the two bad leaks.
F.rank Garred invited the Board, and invited Mr. Kelly to be a cO-host,on,invitlltions
for a Chamber of Commerce Tea, to be'held.on Easter Sunday, from 2 to 4 P.M. at the
Port Townsend Art Gal1e~y.
Roy Severn, a gasoline company representive, appeared to say hello and go out to
lunch with the Commissioners. Adjournment for lunch and inspection of the Bridgehaven
Road was in order.
A letter from Mr. Newman Hayford, Chairman of the Rhodendron Festival, was present~d,
asr..ing f.or the use of 'the facilities at Memorial Field on May 17, 1969.
George Huntil1gtord moved and Bud O'Meara seconded the motion, to grant the requeet.
They will use the facilities during the Grand parade ~nd the Salmon Bake, inckuding
the rest rooms.
A motion was made by george Huntingford and seconded by ~ud O,Meara, to adopt the
Order read, to close the road in Trail's End, known as County Road No. 304, as follows:

RCW 47.28.020 r~quir.ing the immediate closure of said road until further
notic~, now therefore~ it is hereby

U80 And travel of lORded trucks of all tonnage until the rovooa~ion of.
this order, and the County Engineer be and he is hp.reby authorized and
