The m~eting was called to order by Chairman Kelly with all members present..
Mr. Woods appeared regarding the road to the old xerry slip at Hadlock. He xelt
the road v'as a nuisance and a party place. Mia qwns the beach and has a commercial
license, asked that the road be abandoned. Mr. Huntingxord moved and Mr. O'Meara
seconded for the County Engineer to check into the matter.
Vern Such and other Quilcene residents appeared in protezt to the closing of the
road by Bill Syrattonis.house in ~ilcene. Peti,tion presented was signed by Arthur
J. Ecklund, Maria Ecklund, Donald L. Ward, Chas. McClanlhan, Martha McClanahan, Tony
Scalzo, Morris Such and Mrs. Neva Such. Petition objected to the closing qf the small
stretch of road passing through Stratton's property. Commissioners said the road
would be opened.

f-Ir. R. D. "Jim" Bruce, Pope & Talbot Development, Inc. president, appeared re-
questing variance on platting regulations xor Port Ludlow #2, (4~ mi' of road). The
variance,would be in bonding requirements. 'Engineer Becker pointed out to commissioners
that this would establish precidents for other developers to have plat approved and
sell lots on totally undeveloped land.
