Colonel & Mrs. Mecser, & John Swarthout from Gardiner appeared regarding the closing of the County road in their area. (from Dent's barn to the Y above r~ilroad tracks) The road has been open for 50 years and is daily used by school bus, paper delivery, and mail delivery. The road is the only access road during snow and ice. Colonel Messer asked the Bngineer is the stop sign at the Y could be replaced with a yeild sign. \1 , t Jef~erson County does no own tidelands in front of the boat ramp at the old Nordland Ferry landing. Mr. wood feels he may wish to utilize his tidelands. Comm. uuntingford felt that a dead-end sign might help and st4ted that there has been resistance to road closures as Mr. wood asked. Mr. Wood mentioned building a boat- house approximately l5feet above high tide land. Mr. J. o. Johnson asked for a hearing date for SeaMount Estates. Hungtmngford moved that the hearing be set at 11 a.m., June 16, 1969. O'Meara seconded the motion and it was so agreed. Mr. Johnson explained that on one curve that a variance may be required. It was agreed that the new proposed road would be safer and less steep than the existing Forest service Road. Bob Hays appeared in regard to going to the Port Cummission and acquiring $500.00 for the Planning commission. It was moved by O'Meara and Seconded by HUnting- ford to appropriate #1,300.00 for the neat phase of the Planning Commissiom's comprehensive plan as the county share. $1,200.00 plus services will be required for the 1970 budget. Fred Williams appe~red before the commissioners in regard to Williams Addition. He said he had contacted Mr. Egan regarding buying his property-road rightof-way, but no consideration by Mr. Egan. A counter offer KKB made by Egan'S attorney for Williams to buy Egan's property was in excess of value and he proposed vacating his plat, bu,ing property to the north and replatting with new road access. Hungting- ford moved that the Engineer be instructed to offer to buy Egan's road and and if no agreement consider condemnation. The motion was seconded by O'Meara and the Engineer was so instructed. John Swift and Frank Tobinski appeared regarding changes on Lazy C. Mr. Swift proposed exchanging a light bituminous topping on their roads in exchange tor a three acre gravel pit site and approximately 3/4 acre rock q~ry site. Engineer Becker felt that the gravel was good but limited due to possibility of damaging ajacent lots, the same with the rock quarry sit. John Swift estimated approximately 100,000 cubic yards in the 4ravel pit. Mr. Becker recommended that the pit not be accepted. Mr. Kelly said he wanted to inspect the site before a decision. Huntingford moved and O'Meara seconded that commissioner Kelly and Engineer Becker inspect the site and report back to the Board. Mr. swift asked if Addition be made to motion for the Bngineer to report to developer on requirements for acceptance. Motion approved. Jim Bruce and Keith Bates appeared in reard to Pope and Talbot, Port LudlOW No.2 plat. They presented bond and affidavits, all' requirements have been met. Motion made by Huntingford and seconded by O'Meara that bond and affidavits, plat be approved. Motion carried.
