Meeting called to roder by Honerable Chairman walter A. Kelly with all members present.
Bids for oil opened. Becker took bids for totaling by motion of Commissioner Huntingford
and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara.

commissioner Huntingford moved the bid of Howard Cooper for $3,699.36 be accepted. Second
by O'Meara and unanimously approved.
Don Churchill appeared regarding short plats. commissioner O'Meara said there is no res-
trictions on development of five (5) acres or more. There is then a five (5) year delay
on breaking property down further. Commissioners advised ~jr. Churchill that he could open
up streets in platted property he owns by old Hadlock Airport. Commissioner Huntingford
asked Mr. Churchill how his gravel pit was in that area. Don stated tbat he shot the pit
and it was good to 65 feet.
John Doubek appeared requesting $l,200.00 emergency for Civil Defense. Commissioners
advised an emergency cannot be declared until an emergency exists. Mr. Doubek will revise
his budget accordingly (to $2,000.00 for year - $l,200.00 was cut out of City budget).
Urban Arterial Board request for data discussed - Engineer Becker has road in mind for
Urban Arterial Board program, but in formulative stage.
Letter from Washington State Highway Commission regarding reversion of section of old high-
way lOl - Duckabush to Brinnon.
Lake Leland Bridge hazards di scussed. Bech:er would like to remove bridge prior to March 1st.
Legal aramifications of leasing or giving to Sportsman Club.
Architect Les Roline will be here Friday. Advertising the l6th, 22nd, and 29th in the
pape~. Advext.ise for February 2nd bid openings fo~ Wcst~end Annex.
Auditor discussed figures on bookkeeping machine with Commissioners. By motion of Comm-
issioner O'~jeara and second of Commissioner Huntingford, the Burrough's machine will be
purchased for the Auditors Office.
Port Ludlow drainage problem with sand washing discussed. Initial run off above old Queen
Anne Blvd. pretty bad. Engineer Becker felt initial run off is, and will be, the worst,
future will be more of a slough-off. (CUlverts plug up and cause overflow and wash.)
~lr. Albert Aldred, Hadlock Community Club, appeared to say hello and let the Commissioners
know that he thinks they are doing a fine job.
Adjourned for lunch until l:30p.m. by motion of Commissioner O'Meara and second of Commiss-
ioner Huntingford.
Bill Stratton appeared re: Park in Quilcene. Commissioner Kelly is speaking to Mr.
Becker re: Roadway through Park. Stratton said roadway in front of Youth Center is danger-
ous due to speeding youngsters. Mr. Becker said Lief Larson is going to SAndwich work in
between County jobs. Commissioner Kelly and Engineer Becker will look over and decide on
what 'is to be done.
Commissioners were reminded by Mr. Daly that Court would be at 10:00a.m. Thursday, the 8th.
day of January, and he would appreciate their appearance at that time.
Thu:csday the Commissioners will review new platting regulations after Court.
Cash counted in Treasurers Office - $3,661.70.
Commissioners adjourned to inspeot the Jail.
