. Meeting cal~ed to order by Commissioner Walter A. Kelly with all mambers present.
Motion made by Commissioner George Huntingford and seconded by Bud O'Meara to appoint Bva
Taylor to 1973, and re-appoint Jesse Allen to 1975 on the Planning Commission.
Ray ondracek, Bob Deskins B. G. Brown, and Harold Hall app13ared in reference to buyin\ii
property for School District No. 49. Mr. Deskins stated that if another structure had to
be built it would take up parking area.

Commissioner George Huntingford stated they had already seen abour fencing around County
shop property next to school. Question on number of acres owned by school. Mr. Ondracek
went to Accessor's office for information, and was told they own approximately 27 acros.
Commissioners suggested the property across the street by the Grange Hall.
Mr. Hall said this is long range planning, they just wanted to ward off any structure on
County property.
Commissioner George Huntingford asked if they had any road problems. Commissioner O'~leara
asked if they wanted a stop sign at the entrance' to parting area. Mr. Hall said it was
dangerous when it was raining and this would be very good. Commissioner Huntingford said
they would look into property and notify them. Harold Hall suggested moving the Park on
the other side of the school.
Robert Deskins asked about a burning site. Commissioner Walter Kelly said if they are
not bwrning creasote, there should be no problem. Also there is a new burning container
they could obtain. Mr. Deskins said burning considered of timbers and lumber.
Auditor Betty Temple presented Resolution No. l-70 and 2-70 stating the need for Housing
Authority to function in Jefferson County. Resolution No. 35-69, passed October lO, 1969,
did in one Resolution what we have been requesting to do in Res. No. l-70 and Res. No. 2-70.
Commissioner Huntingford moved and Commissioner O'Meara seconded to sign and approve Res-
rolution No. l-70 and Resolution No. 2-70 appointing H. A. Commissioners.
Bills were approved and signed.
Betty Temple brought in Standard Oil Co. contract. Approved and signed by all three
Commissioners.
Letter from Planning Commission concerning Lake Leland Bridge. Commissioner Walt Kelly
sugested making parK facilities and bridge down with other Park and then tearing down the old
bridge. Commissioner O'Meara moved and Commissioner Huntingford seconded that this be
tabled until more is known. Commissioner O'Meara suggested having floats instead of a
bridge.
Tom Fitzmorris, State Dept. of Highways, came in with Mr. Becker re: agreement to be sign-
ed by Commissioner l~alter Kelly on regulations of utility locations. Commissioner O'Meara
asked if the State wanted the Commissioners to regulate anything put in, and Mr. Fitzmorris
said yes.
Commissioner Huntingford suggested making County Bngineer Ed Becker as Head of Utilities
for this County re: water survey.
Dave Strasen and Les Roline from Port Angeles appeared with Mr. Becker concerning the West~
end Annex. Mr. Roline said appliances will be included in their bid. Also with underground
cable and heat in bid with option of merchandise at lesser amount. Advertising changad
from January l6th to January 15th, 22nd, and 29th.
Letter from the Department of Institutions on Mental Health and Mental Retardation asking
for supplementary budget submission for the federal funds.
Motion made by Commissioner G~orge Huntingford and seconded by O'Meara that the Commission-
ers' adjourn for lunch until l:30p.m.
Commissioner Walt Kelly introduced Public Notice No. 70-3.
Motion ma,de by Commissioner Huntingford and seconded by O'Meara to give the Rhododendron
Festival use of Memorial Field on May l61 1970.
Commissioners' received and signed two (2) telephone permits.
l. to place buried telephone cable along the westerly side of Lead C-l09s from the
gravel road to Capo George Village, in a southerly direction for approximately 5690'
all ~s shown in detail.
2. to place buried tolephone cable along the southerly side of County Road NO.4,
from Anderson Road in a westerly diroction for approximately 2570', as shown in
dotail.
Motion made by Commissioner Huntingford rmd seconded by Commissionor 0 'Meara to approve
and sign Resolution 3-70.
