Auditor Betty Temple came in with information on the now automatic doors at the entrance of . the Courthouse. She suggested that payment voucher not be signed until doors are completed. Los Roline, ArChitect, and Mr. Lincoln of Lincoln Construction Company, Tacoma, appea~ed: ro: Construction of West-end Annex. Discussed ways t~ cut on oxpenses on plumbing. Pre8.nt~d lottor to Commissionors listing ways to cut expensos, amounts and totals. Commissioner Hunt- inoford askod Mr. Lincoln if ho WQS t'amilar with tho weathor in the West-end aroa and t-Ir. Lincoln said YOA, that he had built tho tolephone Co. building there. The roofing was dis- cussod and Commissionor O't-leArn stated 1'10 was not in favor of a composition roof. Commiss- ionor Huntingtord Baid 1'10 folt a shnko roof would be best bocause of damp weather in that arell. Chairman Kelly aslted if majority wanted to hold up awarding bid until Mr. Becker can go over changes suggested by Nr. RoUne. Mr. Roline stated that they had 30 days to accept the bid from Mr. Lincoln. Commissioner Kelly and O'Meara both said they preferred a shake roof. Commissioner 0 'Neara made a moti on to hold bid until they can talk to Ed Becker. Nr. Roline gave a figure of $93,484.00 including his salary, but did not include the steel cells. Said : tJO add approximately $4,500.00 for, cells. Shkrit't' Bob Hanserl daid that cells should not cost that much. t-Ir. Roline said bid did not include range, referigator, washer,dryer, and County would have to supply the dishwasher, disposal, range and range hood. i, Commissioner Huntingford made a motion to go over the t'igures again and award bid after lunch. 'Chairma n Kelly said he would rather wait an:} go over plans and figures with t-Ir. Sec1:lter. They decided to do ~is and meet with Mr. Roline again on Wednesday, February llth. at 11:00a.m. Lyle Arey came in to attend the meeting. ,Board of Commissioners received and read the Budget Report from the County Auditor. "Sheri:ff Bob Hansen sta'ted "infla ti on" had set up in th e jail kitchen. He asked for a raise .. in the food allowance for the jail. 'Motion made by Commissioner 0 't-leara and seconded by Huntingford to raise :food allowance in :,the jail kitchen from $1.55 to $1.75 a day. ;:Motion made by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Hunting:ford to approve the minutes of :Soard meeting on February 2nd. i'l-lotion made by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by j'be signed until they check with Engineer Becker and i Mr. Jim Rogers came in with Sheri:ff Hansen. Kelly with all members present. Ray Isle and Ernie 1I0ff, both from the Extension Service, appeared. Mr. Isle is from Okan- ogan County where he has been working in youth activitiIJs. He is hero looking into the pos!- .tion of County Agent for this area. I Chairman Kelly stated that the Courthouse needed a restroom for the public and the employees ,on this :floor because the only one on the main floor is off the Commissioners' office. Comm- .issiol'ler O't-Ieiua said he was also checking into water fountains for the main floor. :Commissioner O'Meara moved, and seconded by Commissioner Kelly to hold letter from Planning Commission until it can be discussed mora thoroughly. Turner for Assistance :from Soldier's and Sailor's Relief Fund is to J,be held for further investigati on. ~ , 'Los Roline appeared to discuss .the building o:f the Illest-end Annex. Commissioner O'Meara ,istated that he would like to change the plan for the roof and take out the glass. t-Ir. Roline I:said reason for shape of roof was to get ad.r in the cells tor ventalation. Said glass w~s j!to let more light into the bu~.lding and make it more cheerful. O'Me"r~ said glass would cV13n.., .,tually leak at seams, and cause repair problems in the future. f>lr.
