Mason complaining about "open range" area in West-end of the County. Co~~issioners ask that letter be written to them stating that this matter would be referred to Willi~ Daly. Commissioners aalted to have letter written to Principal of Chimacum Highschool stating the approximate shop valwations amounting to $7S,534.00. This' does not include preparing the ground for a now shop site. Meeting with 11istorieal Society re: r~ture location of museum. Attending the meeting were: Cal McCune, Gerald Hunt, Leo Gregory and Mr. and 1I1rs. Lee Davis. They came to ask the Commissioners approval to go ahead and work problem out with the city. Commissioners stated that iy would be fine with them. Chairman Kelly said possibly tbey could get the old VPW building. M~s. Davis said the present site needs restoration and monies would have to come from a bond levy. Mrs. Davis also said they would like to charge 3 small admi~sion. Engineer Becker asked Commissioners if he could hire Arvid Grant & Associates, Consulting Engineers, to help with bridge inspections that are required by law. Inspections have to be in process by March l, 1970. Becker needs their assist~nce to inspect all old wooden bridges in the County. There are eight (8) .1;oOOen bridges ,and the cost would be approximately $300.00 per bridge. Motion made by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Huntingford fox Mr. Becker to hire Arvid Grant & Associates to inspect all wooden bridges in the County. Commissioners accepted and signed the projected Road Construction Program for 1970. Motion made by Commissioner Huntingford and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to appro.ve and sign Resolutio.n No. 6-70 Federal Aid Project No. S-0497( 8) as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 6-70 COONTY MAINTENANCE FAS PROJECT WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of WaShington, acting as Agent of and for the Bureau of Public Roads of the Depar.tment of Commerce of the United States of America, is desirous of constructing a Federal Aid Project No. 5-0497(8) in Jefferson County, over and across Sections 12 and l3, Township 27 North, Range 2 West, W.M. Sections 7 and 6, Township 27 North, Range 1 West, W.M. and WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of WaShington, acting as Agent for the United States Bureau of P~blic Roads, is desirous of receiving Federal funds for the im- prDvement of said road, and WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the united States of America will not participate in the construction of said road until and un- less the County of Jefferson will agree to refrain from permitting encroachment upon the right of way of said above-mentioned rO&d, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will i il I, I Ii I' :i II unless the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable resolution, to adopt the grades of the il I: improvement as the grades of the county road that is involved, and agree to protect the State rj II the construction of this improvement, and until and unlos3 the County of Jefferson will agree il [ !I il 'I :1 I, County that for and in consideration of the Department of Highways of the Stllta of Washington !: ii I , I agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the fr.ee flow of traffic on said above- mentioned road or that will give preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by the erection or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or signals, or that will unreasonably hindor or delay traffi,c on said above-mentioned road, and until and ox Washington against any and all claims for damages on account of any changes of grades aed to maintain sais improvement within the limits of the County of Jefferson atter the improve- ment has been completed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Boa.rd of County Commissioners of Jefferson "nd the Burea..! of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the united St.'ltos of America constructing said road and routing traffic on samt, over nnd across .111rffeZ'sf.>n County hoteby E.\grees with the Department of Hight'1aYR of the State of.
