I and April 6, 1970 I 10:OOa.m. Meeting called to arder by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present. Bid Opening: Timber Sale at Mt. Walker garbage dump Wally H. Pederson - $27.50 per thousand board feet P. & R. Logging - $12.50 per thousand board feet Motion made by Commissioner Huntingfcrd and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to award bid to Wally H. Pederson for $27.50 per thousand board feet. Meeting with School District No. 49 Principal and administrators. Commissioner Huntingford asked if they would consider a trade, ar transfer of part of the property wanted by the School and owned by the County. He said an agreement coo ld be made on the other property to be spread over a ten (10) year period for approximately $20,000. Full payment not due until the end of ten years. .. Mr. Charles A. Meyers said he considered this a fair offer. Plan will be discussed by the School Administrators and will let the Commissioners know their decision. People attending the meeting were: Ray Ondracek, Principal, Charles A. Meyers, Guy Rudolph Jr B. G. Brown and other School District No. 49 administrators. )\jr. Fr.ank Fuller, ~!:rs. L. Leslie Bailey, Carl Wo:r1Ilnd, A. vJ. Worlund and Forrest Shumaker appeared to protest the building of a boat ramp by the County between the plat of Fuller's Acres ani the Marrowstone Resort. I Commissioners informed them that a ramp could not be built because of lack of space. . Mr. John Duff of Nordland, appeared concerning filing water rights on his well. Mr. Jeff Pederson and Mr. Bernard Arthur representing th e Port Townsend JC' s appeared re: Lease or rental of the VFW Hall for the young people and the JC's functions. Presented letter to the Commissioners of their intentions of restoration of the building and its use. Mr. said they did not want to take the place away from the VFW, but this could guarantee the JC's and young people of a place to hold th eir meetings, dances, dinners etc. Commissioners informed them they would try to have a definite answer far them by the meeting on April 20th., and asked them to appear again at that time. Commissioners will consult Prosecuting Attorney William Daly on the matter. t-Iotion made by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Huntingford to accept Ordin- ance No. 1-70 as written. .
