Sheriff's office and declaring the sum or $l,l48.98 be ,dded to the Sheriff's Current Ex-
pense budget to cover this nondebateable emergency for the remainder of the 1970 budget year.

\~iEREAS, the 1969 State Legislature enacted legislation, subsequently approved
by the Governor, and
WHEREAS, Chapter 209, Laws of 1969, Extraordinary Session has become effective
relating to retirement aoo pensions for law enforcement officers and fire fighters, establish
in9 a new system separate from the Washington State Public Employees' Retirement System.
~IEREAS, the County is responsible for medical coverage for the employees under
the new act, the BOARD OF JEFFERSON COON1Y COMfllISSIONERS do hereby declare that the sum ox
one thousand, one hundred forty eight dollars & ninety eight cents ($1,148.98) be added to
the Sheriff's Current Expense budget to cover this nondebateable emergency for the remainder
of the 1970 budget year.
