Howard Riddel presented final plat No. 7 for Cape George Village. Moved by Commissioner
Huntingford and seconded by Commissioner O'r'leara to accept and sign the final plat.
t-Ir. Jack Avril, Roats Engineering, appeared for th e Hearing on preliminary plat of Plesent
Tid4s. Problem vdth access road on property adjacent to Plea sent Tides. Road cannot
be approved until Becker and developers agree on access road.
t-Iotion made by Commissioner lIuntinlJford and seconded by Commissioner O'Neara to approve the
preliminary plat of Plea sent Tides with the stipulation that access be held open along the
south line.

l,lelvin Kivley presented the preliminary plat of I<ivley's Addition. r.totion made by Commiss-
ioner O't-Ieara and seconded by Commissioner Huntingford to accept the plat.
Bob Sahli appeared re: Buildings for a new county shop in Chimacum and at the West-end.
Informed the Commissioners of type and cost of construction. It is not known as yet, if the
buildinlJs will be needed.
Commissioners discussed draft drawn up by Pros. Attny. William Faly regarding sale of county
property to Chimacum School District. Secretary asked to write letter to Mayor Smith asking
if the same type of water tap could be acquired at the new proposed site. No action will
be taken until this information is received.

Ilr. Norman pollach appeared to negotiate for the insurance program w.ith the addition of two
nore Sheriff Deputies after the 1st. of the year. He was informed that negotiations would
not take place until after elections.
AUditor, Betty Temple appeared re: Dance License permit for Pope & Talbot Harbormaster Res-
taurant. permission qranted by Commissioners. Letter of notification is to be written.

Addendum to appraisal contract for School District No. 48 - approximately 3,500 parcels _
presented by Assessor Jim Sofie for Chairman Kelly's signature. Cole-Trumble-Layer Co. will
make appraisals.
t-Iotion made by Commissioner O'Meara to adopt the ~f3 sales tax as of October 1st. J'vloti on was
not seconded.
IIlotion made by Commissioner O'lIleara and seconded by Commissioner Huntingford to accept the
minutes of July lOth. and 20th. meetings.
!llrs. Lloyd Saxton appeared in regard to the purchase of a Kennel License for protection
against being zoned out in the future. Ordinance is necessary before license can be sold.

body of water exception~l in its w~tor purity and in its sensitivity to possible pollution;
thnt the public interest is in the protection of tho quality of I100d Canal as a valuable
nnturnl rosource for present .':\nd future 0enorations, and for a va:J:'iety of uses including
conservation ~ncl planned commercial, residential and recreational development; that the

Cnnnl operates ns a delicate physical and ecolooical mochanism in ~ich chanaes that affect
all other pn,rts; and that knowlod~,o about lIood Canal and its physical and environmental
chnractoristics is nn essential prorequisite to proper planning and enliahtened use for this
r000n. It is tllorefore declared to be in the public interest to create a regional advisory
plnnnin'J commisldon by which 1I0od C.':\nal and its adjacent land areas affcctlrHJ the Canal can
be studied and plnnned as a unit.

hereinnfter called the Commission, created pursuant to R,C.W, 36.70.060 as a regional plann-
ina commission for 1I0od Cannl and adjacent land areas.
