Mr. Dale Ferrier, Supervisor, Dept. of Ecology, wrote regarding a petition for the adjudication of Eagle Cre~k.
Bid Call for September 8th. for furnishing the Jefferson County Highway Dept. with one metal building.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

10:00a. m. Meeting cailed to order by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present.
Jesse Allen appeared re: Hear.ing date for Marshall Addition. Question still as to whether Egan can get
water from Williams. This needs to be agreed upon before hearing date can be set. Becker is to receive
letter from Egan stating agreement has been made. A llen also requested Hearing Date for Links Canal Tracts;,
.Allen Link. Question on location of existing county road. Hearing date set for October 5th. at 11: aOa. 1'11.'
for the preliminary plat.
Mr. Herb C. R~uter appeared re: Vacation of County Road( by usage) through his property in Hadlock off
Moore street. Commissioners advised him to have legal petition drawn up for vacation.
Mr. John Lyon submitted petition for vacation of county road through his property. Roadway from Station
31+78.1 I1<lI.rl<ed as beginning a'nd Station 54+50.5 marked as the end of the project. Hearing date set
for October 5th. O',t 1 O:OOa. m.
Motion made by Commissioner O'Meara and seconded by Commissioner Huntingford to slope bank of gravel
pit at Quilcene and put up fence because of dangerous bank.
Call for Bids for constructing one metal s,hop building for Jefferson County Highway Dept. at the Annex shop
site at Clearwater. Bids to be opened and read on September lIth at 10:00a. m. Approved and signed by
Commissioners.
Arvid Grant, who has assisted Engineer Becker on bridges in the county, appeared to take Becker and the
Commissioners to lunch. Wants to d'iscuss problems and projects coming up in the future - Sewer plants,
Sea Coast Management, etc. Questions on State-wide legislation on surveys and planning programs.
Mr. LeRoy Middelton appeared re: Hearing for Preliminary Plat of Chimacum Meadows. Motion made by
Commissioner Huntingford and seconded by Commissioner O'Me'lra to approve the Preliminary Plat.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cru,chon, of Taia Shores, appeared re: Vacation.of road contiguous to their pro-
perty. They are owners of Lot 23 on Paradise Estates. Commissioners advised themto have legal petition
drawn up and signed by all concerned and then present it to the Board for Hearing Date.
Bid Opening: For one metal building for the Jefferson County Highway Dept. (to be erected at Hadlock).
One bid submitted - Ed Snyder..... .... $10,000.00.
Motion made by Commissioner Huntlngford and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to award bid to Ed
Snyde r for s hop build ing at Hadlock for $10, 000. 00.
Auditor Betty Temple, presentlld the 1971 Preliminary Budget, with recomendations. Also Iluggested that
Commissioners have meetl.ng with Clallem County in regard to the Sheriffs Budget and salarien on the Court-
house budget.
Mation by Commissioner O'Meara and second by Commissioner Huntingford to accept the minutes of August
17th n.eeting.
Chairman Kelly signed two copics of exemption certificates to r.:over Federal Excise Tax exemption on s-60pt
utility body - s. o. 67813, Bold to tho County by Buhlcl' Motor Co.
Robert Hays appeared re: Proposed two year survey by the three counties on Hood Canal. Adviseci Commlos
ioners not to Intel' contract because of the largo cost Involved.
