of the two low bidders,. Kaufman and Sahli. Sahlie's bid was $25,800.00 + 5% sales tax of $1,290.00 for a
I total of $27,090.00. Kaufman bid $25,916.00 + 4.5% sales tax of $1,166.22 for a total of $27, 082. 22. Sales
II tax will be 50/0 in the County starting October 1, 1970. .
I: Motion by Commissioner O'Meara and second by Commissioner Huntingford to award bid for furnishing and
i! constructing one metal shop building for the Jefferson County Highway Department to Sahli Construction Co.
!, with the stipulation that bid was awarded on the cost of construction without sales tax.

:. Mr. Mike Selivanoff, owner of Bigstone Construction Co. appeared with his lawyer, Howard Dent Jr. re:
[. Extension in time and additional compensation for Oak Bay Road Project. Mr. Selivanoff has run into condlt-
! ions he did not forsee and requests a twenty (20) day extension on completion date and additional funds to
., complete the job. The original completion date is September 15th. Aspecial meeting is called for Wednesday,
: September 16th at 11:00a. m. for an on-sight inspection by the Commissioners and Engineer Becker.
Mrs. Everett Sprague appeared to request an approach into her property off Oak Bay Road. Becker informed
her that she needed to buy the culvert and inform them of the exact location for the approach.

10:00a. m. Meeting called to order by Honorable Chairman Walter. A. Kelly with all members present.
Mr, Si Hamblen appeared to complain to the Board that he was losing money and business because of the
condition the ,road const ruction co. left his three drivewa ys. Mr. Hamblen's property is contlgous to the
Port Ludlow Road. He stated that sand was dumped on to his property thirty-two Inches deep making it
impossible to drive trallors on to his property and if the Commissioners can not do something to rectify tht:
situation he will go through the courts. Said he refuses to lose any more money due to the condition of his
driveways and that he has another trallor coming In two weeks. Commissioners concur that he should not
lose any more money and Informed him that his driveways will be fixed.

Mr. Chet Miller, from State Parks, appeared re: Boat launching ramp at "Right Smart Cove" In Brlnnon.
Chairman Kelly advisod against It because of unstable water and lack of parking space. Also said launching
ramp would Interfer with the llwlmmlng area. Suggested oolutlon to the problem would be to build a break-
water anel buy the property to the left to level and expand area. Mr. Miller said this was the plan nnd that
the State liked to Inform the County Commissioners of their proposed plans,

Dept. approvlnR the Install.atlon of the water treatment plant and water distribution "ystem, Becker stated
It had been OK'd by the Health ,Dept. Motion made byCommtuloner O'Meara, seconded by Commlosloner
Huntlngford to approve final plat of Brookwood Glen.
David Curdle appeared regarding his property on Marrowstone Island. Commissioner Huntlngford stated
! that the dispute over the condition the Count~' Road Dept, was suppose to have left his propel'ty had gone on
long enough. Engineer Becker, the Fload B088, the Commissioners and Curdle will meet at Curdle's pro-
perty at 2:00p. m. this afterneon to Inspect and settle the prol>lem,

Mr. Gerry Gete appeared re: Transfer of funels for County Fair. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford,
lIecond by Commissioner OIMeara to approve transfer of $5,000 from the Current Expense Fund to the
County Fair Fund.
