Meeting called to order by Honorable Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present. Motion made by Commissioner Huntingford and seconded by Commissioner O'Meara to approve minutes of September 21, 1970 meeting. Commissioners received letter and applicatlon for County Law Enforcement Officers Disability Benefit. Commissioners will consult with Sheriff Hansen before acting. I Commissioners approved and signed application for assistance from Soldlerll' &I Sallors' Relief Fund for $250 for Lester Collins. Commissioners received Public Notice No. 70-20 re: Bridges Correspondence from the Department of Revenue re: Local Sales Tax. I Notice from Dept. of Natural Resources, County trust land transmittal of funds. $20 from Anderson Tree Farm. Notice from State Liquor Control Board of application for Class H license from Holland Fred Barrett, Dis- covery Bay Lodge. Request for meeting from Richard Slavin, Director, Planning and Community Affairs Agency, re: Dispute concerning the county plan. Meeting is to be held on October 9th. at 2:00p. m., in the Commissioners room with Mr. Slavin, his staff and the Co. Planning Commission. . Mr. Robert F. Sahli appeared before the Board re: Contract Bond for Equipment Garage and Shop for Jefferson Co. Annex. Contract bond and proposal signed by Commissioners. County Auditor, Betty Temple and the Commissioners met to discuss the 1971 Proposed Budget. Millage to be assessed by the county will be 4.5 for the County Roads and 4.5 for Current Expense. Public Hearing on the Budget will be held on October 5th. and the final will be received by the Commissioners on Oct. 9. 1 Commissioners received the Budget Report dated August 31, 1970. Notice from Washington State Association of Counties re: Erroneous taxable property figures. i Bulletin No. 105 from the State Auditor stating that they were advised by the Attorney General's Office that the City need only certify 'the ordinance fixing the amount of ad valorem taxes to be levied' to the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners. Commissioners signed three copies of "Full Maintenance" contract for one (1) Otis/Western Passenger Elevator with Western Elevator Corp. Two copies are to be sent to Western. Hearing of Port Commission. Glen Abraham, Attny. for the Port Commission appeared before the Board to inform them the Port will withdraw it's appeal and consent to the valuation of $2,000.00 placed on the property in qaestion by the Dept. of Natural Resources. There is now no need for a public hearing. Request made by the Dept. of Natural Resources for a copy of the decision of the fact that it was stipulated to the value. .
