Mr. Rod Downen, Department of Natural Resources, appeared re: New proposals by the department concern-Ii
ing Jefferson County. Mr. Downen stated that the. Commissioners had probably already been informed of the !
projects because of the meeting they just attended in Longview, Washington, but he would be glad to answer ii
any questions. Question was asked regarding the closure of the station at Center. Mr. Downen said this was Ii
proposed but fire trucks would still be manned from private homes. il

Mr. Ralph Reed, Dept. of Labor and Industries, appeared re: Industrial Insurance Reports. Stated wheneverl!

the county hires sub-constractors, the list of names should be sent to them or the county is responsible. Ii
Engineer Becker said they had been doing this, and would continue to do so. Ii

Bill Clark and Bill Stratton appeared concerning the closing down of all Bingo and gambling in Jefferson Count!
Commissioner Huntingford informed them the whole county would be clolled down and for any further informat!~on
they should talk to Sheriff Hensen. II

John Doubek, Director of Civil Defense for Jefferson County, presented the Revised Budget for Civil Defense, Ii
and Progress Report to be signed by C,hairman Kelly;. 'I
Mr. David M. Thompson appeared re: New proposed road in Nolton Additlon. He had questions on ditches II
and culverts which were answered by Engineer Beckel: Stated that two lots owned by his brother, Ted Thomp;~
son, would be turned over to the county. i1

Mr. Raymond Isle, County Extension Agent. appaared re: Typewrltter for his office. There is money in the
budget, but there needs to be a transfer of funds. Commissioners approved the purchase of a typewriter and
the transfer of funds.
Letter from Thomas A. Lacywith compliments regarding the Oak Bay Road.
County trust land transmittal of funds, $18,140.60, from Schneebeck Lunber Company,

Questionaire from Wash. State Association of Counties re: SCAN. Commissioners not interested at this
time.
Commissioners reviewed Agreement from Olympic Regional Planning Council with Addendum, Question as
to whether Jefferson County belongs to Council. Secretary wlll check, Resolution will be drawn up,
Notice from State Liquor Board that EF license iuuad to Robert B. Noble, et ux, transferred to Wilbur E.
Lyons, et ux, Irondale Grocery.
