Meeting called to order by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present. Norris Short, Griffith Short and Rev. Richard Dowdy appeared regarding the Methodist Church and property contiguous to the new proposed county shop site, Church members are afraid the shop building will obscure the church from the highway. Engineer Becker will go before the Board of Trustees of the church to explain the location of buildings, planned landscaping and possible trade of a few feet of propert y, Warren Russell and Jack Avril appeared for the Preliminary Plat of Pleasent Tides, They requested per- mission to plat 59 lots but restrict usage and sale to 27 lots due to lack of water and approval from the Health Dept. for the remaining 32 lots. Chairman Kelly will confer with Pros. Attny. Daly concerning the legality of such approval. Mr. Elmer Adams, Quilcene Sohool District, appeared regarding dangerous curve a,nd high speed of traffic in front of the school. Requeoted flashing sign to slow traffic on highway 101. Engineer Becker will check with State for permission for large flashing sign over the highway, Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve the minutes of Decem~ ber 14th meeting as presented. Letter from John D. Swift &: Associates, In.c, requesting tabling of approval of Marine View Estates, West of the Olympic Highwa)/, and asking for approval of Division No.1, East of the highway. Motion by Commlss ioner O'Meara and second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve Preliminary Plat Division No, 1, with the de letion of lots 3 and 4. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Huntingford to reappoint Pat Soapeo to the Jefferson County Planning Commission. Commissiol1<ers signed Call for Bids for furnishing the County Highway Dept. with four dump trucks, to be opened and read January 18,1971, at 1 O:OOa. m. Letter from Donald L. Kohler, Chief, Planning Division, Economic Development Administration, stating they have not received Overall Economic Development Program from this county, Copy of letter to Kohler from Robert Knapp, Chairman, OEDP for Jefferson County, stating the report is near completion, Commissioners received abstract of tax rate" and taxes for 1971 tax roll for Jefferson County, Commlllslonerll received request for F'ranchille from John H, Poolman, Seal Rock.
