Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner O'Meara to approve and sign , resolution presented by Doubek, to direct that Fort Worden be considered for the location of a Law Enforce- ment Officers Training Acadamy. Resolution No. 1-71 as follows: RESOLUTION NO. .l.:1L WHEREAS, the State of Washington, by and through its Training Commis!lion is engaged in the planning of a Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy, and f - ...-- WHEREAS, the State of Washington presently owns Fort Worden in Jefferson County, and WHEREAS, Fort Worden is a site already equiped with the physical plant suitable and available for such training facilities, and WHEREAS, Fort Worden facilities are adequate to accomodate both the existing Juvenile Treat- ment Center at said site and the proposed Law Enforcement Officers Traininng Academy, and WHEREAS, IT APPEARS likely that the Juvenile Treatment Center at Fort Worden will be closed in 1971, so that the entire facility will be available for a Training Academy and other uses, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISS- lONERS that the Washington State Training Commission be urged to direct that Fort Worden be considered as a site for the location of a Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy, BOARD OF JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Ls/ A.
