Engineer Becker returned to Board room to report on truck bids, He feels Columbia bc:dies should be outlawedl
Daybrook Hoist is single hoint instead of double as specifled. Becker's recommendation is truckweld. ,i

Becker pointed out the frame section modules of International Harvester bid is no_up to specifications and if 'I
their bid is considered the specs would have to be reduced. Commissioner Huntingford moved that Buhler Bid (
for $38,266.55 be accepted, Commissioner Kelly seconded motion reluctantly. It was unamimous by Board.

their bid. Becker telephoned Transport Equipment and varified that all bids specifying Transport Equipment
are out (Thomas Motors Alt. #2 and International Alt. #1)
Commissioner Huntingford moved, seconded by Commissioner Kelly that minutes of January lith meeting be
accepted as presented, Unanimously approved.
Pros. Attny. Daly presented the Board with a Claim for damages from Jefferson County Water Distr ic t No.1
in the amount of $262,49 for damage incurred by the Jefferson County Highway Dept. while engaged in Highway'
maintenance. Chairman O'Meara will talk to Joe Welch, Insurance Co, concerning claim.
Jerry Bollen and George Houck, Dept, of Ecology, Ted Peach, Glen Deer, Allen Long, VTN Engineers, and
Chuck Brengle appeared for Bridgehaven Development re: Public water and sewer system for Bridgehaven.
Developer would put in initial system with County coming in to assume maintenance operations and expansion.
Jerry Bollen wili get information regarding agreements with Mason and Cowlitz Counties possibly by the end
of the week. The Bridgehaven people will come back to meet:with Commissioners on February 8th. at 2:00p.
as per motion by Commissioner Kelly and second by Commissioner Huntingford.
Bud Dahl representing the Bombford Highwayman, appeared with a slide preacptation on highway and meridan
edgers.
Board received letter from Gov, Daniel J. Evans re: Closure of Fort Worden. Stated his intent to have team
of professionals available for help with Mental Health and Mental Retardation Programs. Also, more money
available for these programs.

Notice from Dougan, Eader, Reynolds & Wheller, Insurance Brokers, re: Washington Counties Insurance
Fund Workmen's Compensation. Advised that effective January 1, 1971, Workmen' 8 Compensation for salaried,
Peace Officers in Jefferson County had expired. County now cO,vered by Teamsters Health &. Welfare Plan
whether on or off the job,
Notice from State Liquor Control Board that Class EF license was applied for by Richard Eugene Moses for
Thompson's.
Commissioners reviewed minutes of Jeff. Co. Planning Commission meeting on January 6th, without comment.;
Board received notice from County Trust Land Transmittal of funds of $1, 600. 00 from Peterson Milling and
Logging Co. and $2,944.99 from Pope &: Talbot Inc.
Copy of letter to Val Cammeron, OEDP Administrator, from R. W. Knapp, Local Manager, re: Sllbmlssion of
OEDP Report. Received without comment,
Board received Public Notice No. NPS-71-11 from Seattle Dist. Corps of Engineers concerning Army permit
issued to construct a rock breakwater in Admiralty Inlet, between entrance to Mats Mate Bal' and Port Ludlow.
Letter from Mrs. C, W. Bonner requesting information regarding laws governing privately owned water compahies,
especially health regulations, pressure minimums and rates. Letter will be written referring her to Utilities ik
Transportation Dept., Olympia,

Hall and Mrs, Ray Lowrie, Engineer Becker showed them mapo of the planned road.
