Informed Commissioners there is no designated funding Ii for Clallam-Jefferson Counties this fiscal year. F rank White, of Toandoll Del Mar appeared re: County Planning Commission disapproval of Plat. He was informed the Commission had been given the wrong Blat of plans, and will re-Ilubmit their recommendation to the Board. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present. Ed Becker, County Engineer, reported to Commissioners that Fair Grounds have been surveyed as per reques,t of the Fair Board. Mrs. Helen Yaculic, Valley Tavern, appeared re: Meeting on licensing of coin-operated machines. Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 1st. at 10:00a. m. Auditor, Betty Temple, presented the Report of Examination of the Road Dept, of Jefferson County, and Re- marks from State of Washington Office of State Auditor. Remarks state that county has complied with regula- tions. Moved by Commissioner Kelly to accept minutes of February 16th meeting. Second by Commissioner Hunt- ingford. Unanimous by Board. Commissioners received letter from Pros. Attny, Daly re: Hartegan vs Jefferson County. He informed that due to the condition of Court calEmday, case will probably not be tried until Spring of 1972, so road plan in the DooewaUips area can be developed accordingly. Co. Assessor, Jim Sofie appeared re: New Property taxes. He is definately against raising property taxes so high that people on fixed income call no longer afford to own their homes, which is the state of affairs now due to the State setting property tax valuation. Commissioners concur. Application for assistance from Soldiers' and Sailors' Relief Fund from David Allen Moore for $189.25, app- roved and signed by Commissioners. Commissioners received letter from John Merrill, Gary Rowe, Ted Porter and Bob Shold regarding air tion caused by burning at Hadlock garbage dump. County is complying with regulations and in the near future will have sanitary fills throughout the county. Chairman O'Meara received telephone call from G, Brian Egan stating Williams had put in a water line on his property( Egan's Addition) next to the road, in January '71, without his know~edge or consent. Informed O'Meara that Engineer Beckc.r knew of the water linc at the time of the meeting on February 8th, and said nothing. Becker stated he knew of the water line after it waOl in, not before, Letter from Pros. Attny, Daly stating that his letter to the Board regarding the operation of bingo-type pin- ball machines had been misinterpreted in thc local paper, Statl~d that it was not Sheriff Hansen's decision to outlaw such machines in the county, but the Courts decision.
