Commissioners approved and signed cooperative agreement with Dept. of Game re: Swimming area on La,ke Leland, as follows: COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT I THIS AGREEMENT IS entered into this 21 day of Mav, 1971, by and between THE COUNTY OF JEFF- , ERSON, acting through the Board of County Commiss.ioners of said count~., and THE STATE OF WASHINGTO~, THE DEPARTMENT OF GAME in order to provide additi.onal. public recreational facilities on lands owned by the State of Washington, the Department of Game and the County of Jefferso\'1. THIS AGREEMENT is supplemental to and in conjunctionwith a cooperative agreement dated April 17, 1<167, between the County of Jefferson and the State of Washington, the D:lpartment of Game. NOW WHEREAS, the State of Washington, the DepatInent of CSme and the County of Jefferson do own lands adjacent to Lake Leland, Jefferson County, Washington, the lands being shown on the attached drawing labeled "Exhibit A", and described in the above referenced cooperative agreement, . AND WHEREAS, the State of Washington, the Department of Game will make available to the County of Jefferson for development those lands above described for so long as such areas are developed and maintain- ed for public recreational puposes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MUTUALLY AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD AS FOLLOWS: 1. Jefferson County will, without cost to the State of Washington, the Department of Game, develop necessary roads, parking, and sanitary facilities on those land owned by the State and the County of facilitate the use of the area by the swimming and fishing public. I 2. There will be no charge made for use of land areas herein involved for parking, boat launching, fishing, ir swimming, nor shall any commercial concessions be granted thereon. 3. The two shaded areas shown on the attached Exhibit A will be at all time::; maintained as a swimming area and a fishing area and will not be developed in any other manner so as to interfere with these uses. 4. The County of Jefferson agrees to save the State of Wa,shington, the Sepa.rtment of Game harmless from any and all claims of liability to the e::tent provided by law for loss or damage to personal property or for injury to person or perlJons resulting from or in any way connected with the uses made of the State's property as provided in thin agreement. THIS AGREEMENT shall ccntunue from the date first a'boveset forth for 60 long as the areas are mantained for puposes above specified unless cancelled by either pa.rty through notification, in writing, Ninety.(90) days in advance of such cancellation. .
