Assessor, Jim Sofie, reported to the Board the 1911 valuation figures. Tentative indicatEJd County Ratio - 41.3;
Revaluation Ratio, Dept. of Revenue, - 48.8; Revaluation Ration, August Boa.rd of Equalization - 47. O. Motion
by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to ask permission from State to reconven,e on
August Z3rd. for purpose of adjusting the assessed valuation of property reappraised during 1970-71.
Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to adopt the Jefferson County Compre-
hensive Plan by resolution. Resolution will be drawn up for signing at the next Board meeting.

Assessor, Jim Sofie, presented Addenum to Contract with Cole-l.ayer-Trumble Co. listing all lands referred
to in the contract located in School District No. 49. Addendum signed by Chairman O'Meara.
Board received proposal and estimate for a Solid Waste Management Study from Futrell, Inc. No action will
be taken by the Board until notification of grant from the Dept. of Ecology.
Notice from State Liquor Board of conditional approval of application for Be EF license for Hamilton's Horn-
In. Approval is subject to their meeting all requirements of Board, state laws and local authorities.

Engineer Becker presented petition for. vacation of Margaret Street from Holman Blvd. East to intersection
with 7th. Ave. in Chalmers Addition No.2. Advised petition be denied due to lack of information on petition
and lack of bond for the sum of $100. Commissioners concur. Becker is to contact Francis W. and Avis M.
Walters, petitioners, of decision.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adj ourned.

10:00 a. m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present,

Mr. John Eglekrout appeared re: Drainage problem at his construction site near Airport. Stated Port
Commission will clear out ditch all the way to Chimacum Creek. Requests the county to inspect culverts,
after clearing by the Port, to see if lowering of the culverts ifJ l1tlcessary. Engineer Becker informed him
that he would inspect the situation and do what is necessary to insure proper drainage in that area.
Mr. Harry G. Henshaw appeared re: Condemnation of building contiguous to his property. Stated building
is a fire hazard with no sanitary facilities and is being rented for $10 a month to "hippies". Presented un-
signed petition for condemnation wi.th question as to wheter petition was legal, and if Board could condemn
the building. He was informed that until the rentors, or the building is proven a nucience to the health and
welfare of the public, the Board can do nothing. He was advised to obtain a legal opinion.
Mr. Ernie Dahman appeared to inquire of a certain pi()c~ of property, on Broad Spit, Dabob Bay. Stated
County ownes this property, Gov. Lot 1, Sec. 21, and tidelands, and has classified as County Park site. He
would like to buy, trade or lee.s"" this property to utilize as oyste r aeed beds. He growf.l oyster aced comm.:lr-
cially. Stated north half of tax lot B would be highly conducive to the growing of oyster seeds. He was
advised to write letter of request to the Board, and they will check with the Pros. Attny. on possibility of
leasing land.
