Member 'H ) .. .' ~ o RESOWTION NO...@.;2I IId~ f' /'4f~ I~'I WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Highway Department has need of approximately 1,540 tons of asphalt paving material at,the present time, and WHEREAS, the asphalt mixing plant needed to manufacture said material is a very specialized apparatus, being available in Jefferson County area on a very limited time schedule, and WHEREAS, the J. S. Shotwell Company's mixing plant, capable of accomplish- ing said work is available in the Jefferson County area during the last of August 1971, and WHEREAS, the need to preserve the fills and provide controlled drainage makes it necessary to deliver and place approximate~y 600 tons of asphaltic concrete Class F in the Quilcene North area, also to provide 1,664 L.F. of asphalt curb, and WHEREAS, the new Jefferson County shop at Hadlock will soon be ready for occupancy and to preserve the grading and drainage of this area, it is necessary to pave the site with approximately 900 tons of asphaltic concrete Class F, and WHEREAS, damage to paved drainage in Port Ludlow along the County Road has made it necessary for approxim.~tely 40 tons of asphaltic concrete in place for repairs, and WHEREAS, the J. D. Shotwell Company has proposed to prOduce the required asphalt materials, deliver and pave in place for the following considerations: Qul1cene North Area - Asphalt Concrete Class F in place Curb ;in place 12.50 ton 1. 00 LF Hadlock Shop Site .. Asphalt Concrete Class F in place 8.00 ton Port Ludlow Area - Asphalt Concrete Class F in place 15.00 ton NOW THEREFORE) BE IT RESOLVED, th~t the Jefferson County Commissioners hereby authorize the Jefferson County Engineer to negotiate a contract with the J. D. Shotwell Company to produce, deliver and place the following: Quilcen~ North Area - 600 tons of asphalt concrete, Class F at a unit cost of $12,50 per ton 1,664 Lineal Feet of asphalt curb in place at a unit cost of $1.00 per L.F. Hadlock Shop SHe - 900 tons of Asphalt Concrete, ClasB F, at a unit cost of $8.00 per ton.
