Board received Claim for Damages from Daniel R. MoBride, et ux, deriving from injuries sustained in auto
accident at intersection of county roads 10 and 12, on July 2, 1971. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford to
deny and turn claj,n\ over to Insurance Company. Second by Commissioner Kelly and unanimous by Board.

Notice from Dept. of Revenue ra: Crown Zellerbach. Stated mm qualifies for rollback in assessed valuation
under the provisions of the Laws of the State of Washington, Section 8, Ch. 288, 1971 1st Ex. Sess.
Chairman O'Meara read letter from Dept. of Ecology 1'8: Solid Waste Management Planning Grant Application.
They are in receipt of county's application and upon completion of review, will notify of any necessary revisions.
Board received request for date of adoption of Comprehensive Plan from Charles E. Pogatchnik, County
Supervisor, Dept. of Agriculture, Port Angeles. Secretary will answer request.
Hearing to Establish Road, as follows: The North forty (40) feet of that portion of the Southeast quarter
of the Southeast quarter of Section 31, Township 27 North, Range 1 of West W. M. lying east of County
Road No. 20. Letter from Engineer Becker recommending establishment due to giving legal access to property
that could be landlocked. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to establish
this described strip of land as a portion of the county road system. Unanimous by Board.

Certification of Valuations concerning adjustments on Bond Funds. as requested by IDS 114. after Auditor had
reviewed Surpluses in Funds. Motion by Commissioner Hunting ford . second by Commissioner Kelly to certify

Deputy Bill Booth appeared re: Traffic problem on Highway 101 in front of school buildings in Quilcene. Letter
from Elmer Adams, Superintendent, Quilcene Public Schools, concerning same problem. States highway is
dangerous and is not properly marked. Commissioner Kelly advised highwtly is adequately marked only signs
are not large enough for modern day traffic. Biggest problem is with tourists.
