10:00 a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present.
Bid Opening for two (2} county cars:
Thomas Motors.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $5,876.52 including trade-in
!<ruse Car Center. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $6,083.00 including trade-in
Buhler Motor Co. ................... .$5,895.72 including trade-in
Motion by Commissioner Huntingford to accept bid of Thomas Motors for $5,876.52 for two county
cars. Second by Commissioner Kelly. Unanimous by Board.
Paul Kerr appeared re: Closure of old Tarbo Road in Dabob area (28-29-lW). Advised by Board to have
petition drawn up and signed to present to the Board.
Rod Downan, Dept. of Natural Resources appeared to present latest bulletin from the Dept. re: Income from
State Management. Stated he likes to come in from time to time to answer any questions by the Board.
William Bishop, P. U .D. appeared re: Water for Hadlock area. Sent letter to City Council concerning water
for Hadlock area and received no response. Sent second letter and still no response. Requests permission
from the Board to dig test hole for water on county property near gravel pit. Permission granted by the Board
by motion of Commissioner Huntingford and second by Commissioner Keliy. Unanimous by Board.
Sheriff Hansen appeared regarding Resolution to establish work release for inmates. By motion of Commissioner
Huntingford and second by Commissioner Kelly, Resolution No. 36-71 was unanimously approved and signed
by Board as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 36-71
A RESOLUTION authorizing the continued employment of a Jefferson
County Jail inmate at his regular place of employment while under
sentence as provided in R.C.W. 36.63.260.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, that said
Board does hereby find that the operations of the proviSions of R.C. W. 36.63.260 .Is feasible and in
the public interest and that the Sheriff of Jefferson County be and is hereby authorized and empowered
to conduct and ca/TY out the purpose and intent of the substantive law as the said Sheriff deems practical.
Adopted this 1st day of November, 1971.

Port Ludlow Dovelopment. Prosented map of oomprehensivt:l plan for future development and stated they have
met with the Dept, of EcoloOY, Dept. of Fisheries I\l1d Army Corps of Engineers, hlllve received their approval
and will follow thoir gUidelinas, os well 3S those set down by the oounty. wm present preliminary plan for
development at later date.
