There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. ############### November 22, 1971 10:00 a.m. MeeUng called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present. Hearing for Shoreline Management Application Permit for Application No.2, Washington State Dept. of Game for their project on the Bogachiel River - to provide public access. No one appeared to speak against petition. The Board, having no argument against the petition, approved application unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve and sign Resolution No. 41-71 - to endorse and encourage the Wash. State Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare to take the necessary steps to obtain Federal matching funds for the Brinnon Booster Club to buy a new ambulance, as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 41-71 RElATING to hazardous traveling conditions on State Highway 101 along Hood Canal through Brinnon. WHEREAS, the above-named Highway services many State Parks, the Olympic National Park and the entire Olympic Peninsula complex, and WHEREAS, the 3bove~named Highwtly is of prime ~ngress tlnd egress for traffic generated by the increaSing number of tourists attracted to this area. and WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Commissioners, the Jefferson County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol strive to maintain a high priority for safety for the traveling public on this Highway, and WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners have been well informed of accidents and fatalities that have occurred on the above-named Highway, and WHEREAS, the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners have recognized for some time the need for a new ambulance to serve the traveling public on State Highway 101 as Brinnon is 40 miles from the nearest hospital. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners that they publicly endorse llnd encourage. the Washington State Department of Health, Education and Welfare to take the necessary steps to obtain Federal matching funds for the Brinnon Booster Club of Washington ( a non profit corporation) to obtain a new ambulance (type recommended by Mr. Delahunt of the Department of SO(Jial and Health Sorvicos, Division of HoaIth, in a lettor dated April 15 , 1971) to carryon this urgently needed volunteer service.
