10:00 a.m., Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present.
Assessor, Jim Sofie, came in with executed contract with State for additional reappraisal money.
Sheriff Hansen reported that Mel Mefford, his office deputy, broke his leg in an accident (ice) yesterday
and will be off for approximately three, months.
Board received copy of letter to Dr. Shirley Benham, Olympic Health District, from Kenneth Merry, Super-
vising Engineer, Division of Health re: American Camper Club. Secretary instructed to write letter to
Club stating it is mandatory for them to comply with all health rules and regulations, and also they now
come under the new Platting rp1:/11 :ations.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, sec,:,'d by Commissioner Huntingford to set Hearing date for Pope &. Talbot
Condominium Shoreline Application Permit for Ian, 17th at 11:30 a . m. Shoreland Adv. Commission sent
letter stating they had inspected the site and recommended approval.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to accept minutes of December 20th
meeting.
Letter from Craigen, Rank and Co. Ins. re: Design of steel roof to cover the Memorial Field Grandstand.
Stated cost of preparing the necessary drawings for bidding purposes, including the stamp of a structural
engineer, would be $750. Chairman O'Meara w1l1investigate matter and advise other Board members of
findings.
Board reviewed the following without comment:
Federal Assistance Notification Program (OMB Circular A-95) from Planning and Community Affairs
Agency.
Score report for county appraiser certification test for Assessors. Notice is to be considered
eqUivalent to certification.
Copy of letter to Mr. Ariel Parkinson, from Olympic Health District ra: Responsibilities of the
Health District.
County trust land transmittal of funds from the Dept. of Natural Resources: $2,711.25, county's share
from Seaboard Lumber Co.
Notice from Dept. of Revenue of local sales tax. 1971 distribution $47.3 million.
Notice of approval of proposed program of Ocean Systems, Inc. from Dixy Lee Ray.
Director: Pacific Science Center Foundation. Stated it would be beneficial beyond measures to the
orderly and responsible development of the resource potential of puget Sound.
Notice of meetings from Urban Arterial Board.
Notice of meeting from State Highway Commis sion.

10:00 a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present.
Bid Opening for Petroleum Products for the County:
1) Union 76 Declined
2) Standard 011 $33,351. 05
3) Mob11 Oil $34,602.50
4) Harper 011 $33,961. 25
Motion by Commissioner Huntingford for Engineer Bocker to take bids to check totals, second by
Commissioner Kelly. After checking, Becker returned to advise that totals are correct all prosented. Motion
by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to award bid to Standard Oil Co. for the amount
$33,351.05.
Board Signed Bond with McClanahan Const. Co. for work on Quilcena-Centor Rond.

Disposal. Presented proposal and letter of oot.\ma ted fee for tho ~mount of $9,000. Engineer Becken advised
he had gone over plan and it is in line with what is expeoted and a good prtlPOSl\l. Mr. Hanssn said it also
included the Weat-end of the county. Chl!lrman O'Meara said the Botlrd should be able to notify them of
their decision in two to three weeks.
Motion by Commissioner Huntingford I second by CommiSSioner Kelly to re-appoint Mr. Fr'9d teater' and Mr.
Joseph H. Dunlap to the Jefferson County Planning Commission fOT 1972.
Board received notice of cancellation of Collection A~enc1' Bond for Merle C. Hufford, from Welch Inc, Co.
