Stated the approach they are now using is dangerous due to curve in highway. Crown I, 'I Zellerbach owns adjacent property but refuses permission for any part to be used as approach. Becker will in- 1, vestigate further and notify the Board of his findings. Assessor, Jim Sofie appeared to advise that he was able to purchase two cars to be used by his office, from the:; State for $900 each. Cost was much less than anticipated. County will auction off old cars from Assessor's ' Office, Sheriff's Office and the Road Dept, at a later date. Board received Minutes of Shoreland Advisory Commission meeting of Febraury 17th which in one portion stated: it was their decision that the Port of Port Townsend did not need a permit for their two proposed projects at . Quilcene Boat Haven, due to the construction being in the category of "repairs to existing structures damaged by the elements". Letters will be sent to the Dept. of Ecology, Attny. General's Offce and Port of Port Townsend advising of their decision. Board received the following without comment: Copy of letter to Pug-et Sr.:lund Exchange Corp., % Dr. Glen Deer, from Randall M. Durant, District Sanitarian, advising that the proposed site for the construction of a club house is not suitable for drainage sewage dispos- . al and a holding tan~ system cannot be allowed. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present. " Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve minutes of February 28th meeting. Mr. Horace Gleason presented proposal for Shoreline Management Survey. Engineer Becker informed Board of Mr. Gleason's qualifications. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wojt were present and voiced compliant against Mr. Gleason's proposal being accepted at this late date. It was explained that sealed bids were not called for and therefore Mr. Glf3ason's proposal could not be considered late. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to accept bid from Horace Gleason due to low bid proposal and knowledge of the entire county. Unanimous by Board. Letter froln Mayor of Port Towasend stating the county is to transfer lighting f!.xtures previously discussed to the City Hall. Board will check with 01 stodian. No objections by the Board at this time. Auditor, Betty Temple, presented lettm concerning Colonial Life Ins. Co. Letter grants approval for insurance representativefl to speak to county employees. Board unanimously approved letter. Mrs. Temple also presented: Notice from Waohington Public Employees' Retirement System re: Changes in retirement benefits. Engineer Becker preoented maps and letter from Craigen & Rank Co. for proposed cover for Memorial Field Stadium. Chairman O'Meara contacted firm by phone and was informed all pertinent information will be available by March 13th. Becker also discussed proposed floats for Lake Leland. Estimated cost will be $6 to $ 7.per square feet (6)(8)(26" deep) installed. Mr. Smithy F. Bedell appeared to present Iloard with preliminary plans for a TraUor Park on Marrowstone Island. ]1 No water or perk tests taken at this time. Splices in park will be rented, not sold. He was advised to contac t 'i Ilnd wOl'k with the Health Department for all sllnitary facilities.
