Letter from Mr. and Mrs. Glen E. Mason re: Range laws in the West-end of 1efferson County. Another letter'
will be written to the Masons' again telling them of the Board's decision not to change the open range law at
this time.

Board received the following without comment:
Liquor license, Class CD No. 358333, for Melvin Frank Thompson, d/b/a Half-way House
Restaurant,
Copy of letter to Victor C. Oblas, from the Corps of Engineers, withdrawing appl1cation from
Ocean System for their proposed project in Port Townsend Bay near Crane Point.
Copy of letter to Paul Miller, Chairman, Jefferson County Council on Alcoholism, from E.A. Ken-
ealy, Supervisor, Alcoholism Section, Olympia, re: Funding.
County trust land transmittal of funds, $2 ,046.75, from Hermann Bros., for removal of timber.
Unpublished statistics from the 1970 census.

Mr. Ken Loftus appeared re: County property at Glen Cove. Mr. Loftus expressed the desire to purchase
this property from the County. Property described as tax title property 30 -30-1 W, Tax lot #30. Mr. Loftus
owns tax lot #28 across the county road. He was advised by the Board that property will have to be put up for
bids. Engineer Becker stated he could not foresee any future use of the property by the County and the Board
concurs. Mr. Loftus acquired a Petition for Order of Sale from the Treasurer's Office and Chairman 0' Meara
signed for the Board. Mr. Loftus was advised to pay 10% of the guaranteed bid price ($25.00) to the Jeff-
erson County Auditor.

10:00a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present.
Hearing for Shoreline Management Permit for Pope & Talbot, Inc., ApplicCl,tion No. 12, for proposed Port Ludlow
Utility. Bicycle & Pedestrian Path, and Marina Restroom Installations. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford,
second by Commissioner Kelly t.o approve permit. Unanimous by Board.
Roger French, City Engineer, appeared re: (1) Shoreline Management Permit for OK Rubber Welders - was given
applici'ltion with instructions; (2) Advertising county in the Wall Street Journal - resolution will be drawn up
by the City for Signing by the Board for 1/4th. of the funding, which will be approximately $116.00; (3) Lights
for City Hall - Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to donate four lighting
fixtures to be utilized in the restoration of City Hall. Unanimous by Board.

Motion by Commissioner Hunti.ngford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve minutes of March 20th. meeting
as presented. Unanimous by Board.
Engineer Becker spoke to the Board regarding CRAB Board Priority Programming. Presented copy of "report card"
for Jeffers 00 County which he will submit to the CRAB Board, Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by
Commissioner Kelly to adopt Priority Programming & Priority Rating as presented by Engineer Becker, as of this
da te, Unanimous by Board.
A.C. Grady, Attny, appeared regarding his plat of Log Cabin Inn Property. Stated he had received a letter
from the Department of Natural Resources saying ;the property had flooded previously, but claims he is only
aware of ona time which was caused by a log jam and since then trouble area has been rip-rapped, Preliminary
Hearing set for April 10th.

Letter from Leo J, Gese, Attny. , regarding Road Vacation at Lake Leland. Commissioners and Engineer Becker
concur that all of West Leland Road, Co. Rd. No. 30-7.85 t1hould be vacated. Motion by Commissioner Hunting-
ford, second by Commissioner Kelly to set hearing for vacation and to approve and sign Resolution No. 11-72,
a s follows: Unanimous by Board.

WHEREAS, after due consideration, it appears to this Board of County Commissioners
that it is not in the public interest to continue to maintain as a part of the County road system:
I
All of West Leland Road. County Road No, 30-7.85 in its entirety,
and in contemplation of the language of tho stature, RCW 36.87.010 I the same aro use-
less, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, and this Board of County Commissioners does now declare its inten-
tion to vacate and abandon said roads, and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, and the County Road Enqineer is hereby directed to examine said
roads and report hIs opinion a.s to w~lether theso county roa,ds should be va(:ated and abandoned; whether
