Mr. Rod Downan, Dept. of Natural Resources appeared re: Re-organization of the department. Department
will be changed to "Araa Management" by Jul}' 1, 1972. This area will be from Hoqu:lam to Qullcene with
the headquarters in Forks. Each area w111 have three assistants and be broken down into four districts. Mr.
Downan was unable to complete his report due to large number of people appearing about their revalued pro-
perty taxes.

10:00a.m. Meeting called to order by Ch\'5!rman A.M.O'Meara with all members present.
Approximately 15U people app~ared to protest against their newly re-appraised property taxes. Stated the
last reassessmant has made their taxes so high they connot afford to own their property anymore. Questions
by several members of tho group, WGl'e answered by Lloyd Hansen, Chief Deputy, Assessor's Office, Chair-
man O'Meara and Commissioner Huntingford. One major question was why Cole, Layer, Trumble Co., from
Chicago, was ~lred to value property in this area. It was explained that they had submitted the lowest bid.
Questions and answers continued for over an hour. Tha grollp decided to have representatives sit in on the
Comm!ssionerB meetings each Monday. Commisoioners adv:lsed all who have grievances should f111 out a
pro pert}' patition and appear bsfore the Board of EquaU2!ation, which this year, may consist of members other
than themselvQs.

Dr. Glen Deer appeared re: Bridgehaven Sewerage Systf:1m. Original treatment plant would take care of club-
house and condominiums plus about 20 lots (approximately J.25 lots) which includes everything that has been
approved so fa;. Dr. Deer stated allY new devisions, that tho Board approves, will be serviced by extensions,
or new phases, added to the original plant. One question, on water supply, still unresolved. Dr. Deer will
check with the Health Department and advise the Board of findings. Dr. Deer will also re-submit Shoreline
Management Applicat.ions for the Clubhouse and SwimminG Pool, Condominiums with Boat Slip and Sewerage
Treatment Plant.
Motion by Commiss:loner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve minutes of March 27th. meet-
ing. Unanimous by Board.

Board received letter of "thanks" from Mrs. George Hubbard, for repair of the boat ramp at Shine. Engineer
Becker informed the Board that repair 1s only temporary and cannot do the f:lnal work until approval from the
Corps of Engineers, which will take approximately two months.
Board approved and signed Agreement No. GM 693 - Bi.Own'S Lake to Hood Canal Bridge, with the State High-
way Commission.
Motion by Commissioner Huntingford to approve Soldiers' & Sailors' Relief appUcation fOf Mr. Richard D.
Cadle, for the amount of $25.36. Seconded by Commissioner Kelly. Unanimous.

Request from Peninsula Telephone &. Telegraph Co. for permission to install a public telephone booth at the
Courthouse Annex in Clearwater. Permission granted with the stipulation that booth does not block view of
the Courthouse sign.
Resolution NO. 12-72, name change for civil defense department, approved and signed by motion of Com-
missioner Huntinfford and second by Commissioner Kelly. Unanimous by Board. Resolution as follows:

In accordance with state law through the legislative mandate contained in SB No. 97.

functions pursuant to ROW 38.52.070 shall be hereafter knovm as and its name changed to the JEFFERSON
