Copy of pre-application notification form from Olympic Regional Planning Council, for the Port Townsend Police
Department, for proposed improved Communication System. Application unanimously approved by the Board.
?ublic Notice No. 071-0YB-I-000614, re: State Parks & Recreation Commission, from Corps of Engineers.
Notice concerns the replacement of a deteriorated 6" cast iron water line with a 6" plastic water line. Latter
will be sent advising that Shoreline Management Permit is not required.
Board reviewed the following without comment:
Copy of letter to Irving Johnson, fr()m Kenneth J. Merry, State Health Department fe: Water System
for unrecorded plat known as Sound View Villa. Advising that untIl water system is fully approved, they are
requesting that no further building permits be approved in that development.
Copy of application for Class H liquor license for Randolph Holland Barrett, d/b/a Discovery Bay
Lodge. No objections by the Board.
Letter from Board of Kitsap County Commissioners re: NCR Cash Register. Referred to the Treasurer's
Office.
County trust land transmittal of funds: $299.25 from Criddle Partee Jr. , for timber sale.
There being no further business befor the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

10:00a.m. Meeting called t\') order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members persent.
Mr. John Nelson appeared re: Payment of taxes on property he does not own. Stated he has been paying taxes
on property he does not Dwn for thirty years because the cost was so low he did not mind pa~'ing, but now that
taxes have gone up so high he no longer wants to be charged for it by the Assessor's Office. Lloyd Hansen,
Chief Deputy, Assessor's Office, advised him to have a survey of the property he now owns and present it to
the Office and he will accept it for adjustment.
Mr. John Duff and Mr. Luthard Stavney appeared as "interested citizens" to observe the proceedings of the
Board. Mr. Duff asked who classified Marrowstone Island as "recreation land"? He was advised by the
Board and Chief Deputy, Hansen, that land is not zoned.in Jefferson County. Marrowstone Island was all class-
ified as "waterfront property".
Board approved and signed b1lls for March to be paid in April, as follows:

Motion by Commissioner Huntl.ngford to go on record to keep m11la(IO down as low as possible. Seconded by
Commissioner Kelly and unanimous by Chairman 0' Meara.
Hearing for Preliminary Plat of Log Cabin inn Tracts, Division No. 1. Those appearing were: Mr. & Mrs. Don-
ald Ward, Mr. & Mrs. Normlln E. larsen, Gloria Durdlo, Clifford W. Durdle,~it6 Campen, Howard Dent,Jr.,
Attny. and Mr. William Almasi. A.C. Grady, co.. owner of Log Cabin Inn Tracts was unable to attend due to
Federal Court case in Seattle which required hie attendance. Attorney, Howard Dent ,Jr. ll.ppeared to represent
Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Larsen who own property contiguous to proposed plat. They claim owners of plat, Grady
and Almasi, have moved boundary lines Bnd encroohed on their property. Also, only aocess to their property
is road through proposed plat, whioh has been blooked by' the o\\mers. Mr. Almasi advised he had put the road
through himself and hlid closed it to keep out cl.I.mpers and hippies. Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Larsen stated their
father built thr road many years ago. EnQincor Boeker advisod that it will be their responsibility to have a sur-
vey taken, and unless a suitablo agreement can be reaohed betweeln land owners, the case w11l probably have
to be settled in court. Chairman O'Me~rn advised that no plat can bl9 approved by this Board that land locks any
other property. The Board received letters regarding the plat from Don Morrison, Dtstriot Sanitarian, Howard
Dent,Jr., Attny. and the Jefferson County Planning Commission.
