Daly read a letter, written by him to the Board, expressing his views against the County going into agreement with land developers for the eventual take over ,by the County, of sewer plants installed at development sites. He is also against the County going into agreement with developers concerning escrow, or trust accounts. Daly decided not to present the letter to the Board. Hearing for the Adoption d Uniform Traffic Code for Jefferson County. No one appeared against. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve and sign Ordinance No. 1-72, as fol- lows. Unanimous by Board: I ORDINANCE NO. -1-, 1972 AN ORDINANCE REIATING TO THE ADOPTION OF A UNIFORM TRAFFIC CODE FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, under provisions of R. C. W. I 36.32.120 (7), have authority to make and enforce. by appropriate resolutions or ordinances, police regula- t10ns as are not in conflict with state law, and within the unincorporated area of the County may adopt by ref- erence, Washington state statutes and recognized codes or portions thereof, together with amendments there- to, or additions thereto; and . WHEREAS, it is desirable that all fines and forfeitures for traffic violations collected by the Jefferson County District Court be deposited in the Jefferson County Current Expense Fund; and WHEREAS, this can be accomplished by the adoption of a Uniform Traffic Code for Jefferson County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDAINED by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners that I the Revised Code of Washington, Title 46, Chapters 46.04,46.08,46.09,46.10,46.20,46.37,46.61, 46.64, 46.98, as now constituted and as hereafter amended, is hereby adopted as a Uniform Traffic Code for Jefferson County, and that violation of any Section under the Code shall constitute a misdemeanor punishable by fine not to exceed $500.00, or imprisonment not to exceed 6 months in 1!he Jefferson County Jal1; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORD.l\.INED, that all fines and forfeitures collected for violation of any of the provisions of this title (ordinance) shall be deposited in the Current Expense Fund of Jefferson e County, after a pro-rated share of the expense of the administration of the District Court has been deducted.
