Board discussed new appointments for the Water & Sewer Review Committee. Board now consists of Robert Knapp, from ?uget Power, and Roger French, from. the. City of Port Townsend. Two names submitted were Harold Brown and Cl1f Powell. Board will contact,persons whose names were submitted as to their willing- neSS to serve on the Board. Motion by Commissioner HunUngforcl, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve minutes of last meeting . Unanimous. Deputy Clarence Booth appeared rsgarding: ,Intersection from State Highway 101 to Buck Mountain. Engi- neer Becker advised that work was to be started today or tomorrow. Discussed also, was the 4-way stop at Qullcene Linger Longer Road. Road J)epartrl.l~nt cr.trried out a survey to see what percentage of traffic used the new bridge, and it was found that 52% used the new bridge and 48% used the old bridge. it was decided to remove two stop signs and leave the North and East roads open to the new bridge. Commission- er Kelly also suggested USing a stop warning sign to notify the traffic of the stop ahead. All concur. Auditor, Betty Temple, introduced the .Acting Auditor, Miss Paula Palmer, for law Day activities, and an- nounced that all Officials and Acting Officials were scheduled for lunch at the Hudson House. Board received Summons on Cross Claim of Frol Vs. Jefferson County and Mazda Motors of America (N . W .) Inc., et al. Copies w11l :be forwarded to Joe Welch Insurance and Prosecuting Attorney Daly. Board discussed thl;l necessity of new members for the Solid Waste Advisory Committee. They were ad- vised by Engineer Becker that one persor. is needed from Hadlock and Quilcene area, one from Olympic Dis- posal and One from the Planning Commission. Only name submitted at this time is Rex Aldrich from Olym- pic Disposal. Engineer Becker presented a letter written to him, from H. C. Reuter, regarding: Clearing of weeds and brush on county roads leading to his properW. Becker will check into the accessability of these roads. Board received estimated amount of monies Jefferson County may receive from the Forest Funds. County's share of FY 1972 receipts -- $1,002, 0f'2. Clarence lammers appeared to request that the culvert in front of his property, by Cape George, be cleaned out by the County Road Department. This matter was referred to Engineer Becker. Mr. A.C. Dalgleish appeared regarding: Number of Warranty Deeds issued on unrecorded plat of Olympic Inn properties. Stated he was Informed b~- the Assessor's Office that he was the last person that could legally receive a warrenty deed on that plat and since then, he has found that others have received deeds making a total of six altogether. P-cosecuting Attomey Daly will be notified. Board received Industraial Insurance Employer Bulletin, and Notice of Compliance for posting. Notice will be posted. Board received amount of new increased contribution rates, due to higher insurance premium requirements, for the Sheriff's Office, from Northwest Administrator's Inc. - Washington Teamsters amount for each man will be $57.35. Arnold D. and Gisela M. Sweat sent petition for vacation of county road located in block 13 of Phillips Addi- tion to Irondale. Petition will be returned for lack of signatures. Letter from Planning and Community Affairs Agency regarding: Meeting on May 31st at Manresa Inn, on Execu- tive Management R.eview. Commissioners plan to try to attend meeting. Board reviewed the following without comment: Notice froti! the Department of Ecology that the 45 day review period for the Department of Fish- eries Shoreline Management Permit terminated on April 30th. Letter from the Dan Evans Committee regarding: Support for the Governor. Letter from the Employer's Representative Association, Inc. regarding: New Federal occupation- al safety and health a,~t -1nd Washington State Safety laws. Notice of Public Hearing from the Urban Arterial Board. There being no further business b,)fore the Board the meeting was adjourned. May 8, 1972 10:00 a.m. Meeting was called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present. Board discussed Comprehensive Uability Insurance Policy No. CLP7243500, United Pacific Insurance Compan~ Question as to whether old cars have been delated from the policy. Meeting will be an'anged with Joe Welch, Insurance Agent. Engineer Becker Inf.ormed the Board h~l had bef.ln offered "50 for a 1954 Chevrolet no longer needed or wanted by his office. Motion by Commisa~onerKelly to give Mr. Becker permission to sell. Commissioner Hunting- ford stated he feels the car should be auotioned off with other cars from the Sheriff's and Assessor's offices. Chairman O'Meara concurs with Commissioner Huntingford.
