The county road purpose herein described is HEREBY DECLARED to be a public recessity and the County Road
Engineer is HEREBY ORDERED AND AUTHORIZED TO report and proceed thereon as by law provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this purpose be performed by da v labor in accordance with the Standard Road and
Bridge Specifications of the State of Washington as adopted by this Board.

Maintenance on FAS Agreement, as follows. Unanimous by Board.
RESOLUTION NO. 17-72
COUNTY MAINTENANCE FAS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent of and for the
Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of America, is desirous of construct-
ing a Federal Aid Project, No. S-0497(9) is Jefferson County. over and across
Sections 16, 17, 20, 29 & 32, Township 28 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
Sections 5,6,7, & 18, Township 27 North. Range 1 West, W.M.
Sections 12, & 13, Township 27 North. Range 2 West, W.M.
and
WHEREAS, tte Department of Highways of the State of Washington, acting as Agent for the United
States Bureau of Public Roads, is desirous of receiving Federal funds for the improvement of said road, and
WHEREAS, the said Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the United States of
America will not participate in the construction of said road until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree
to refrain from permitting encroachment upon the right of way of said above-mentioned road, and until and unless
the County of Jefferson wUl agree to refrain from passing resolutions affecting the free flow of traffic on said
above-ment1oned;roador 'that will give preference to local routes which intersect with said road, other than by
the erection or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" Signs or signals, or that will unreasonably hinder or delay
traffic on said above-mentioned road, and until and unless the County of Jefferson will agree, by suitable res-
olution, to adopt the grades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is involvod, and agree to
protect tho State of Washington against any and all claims for damages on account of any changes of grades and
the conntruction of this improvement, and untJ.l and unless the County of Jefferson w11l agree to maintain said
improvement within the limits of the County of Jefferson after the improvement has been completed:
NOW, THI1REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commiasioners of Jefferson County that
for and in consideration of the Depa~.tmont of Hi~hways of the State of Washington and the Bureau of Public Roads
of the Department of Commerce of the United Stlltes of America constructing said road and routing traffic on same
over and across Jefferson County hereby agrees with the Department of Highways of the State of Washington and
the Bureau of Public Roadfl of the Department of CC'mmerce of the United States of America that it w11l not, in the
future, permit encroachmonts on the right of way of the said above-mentioned road, nor will it pass any resolu-
tions affecting the free flow of traffic on said above-mentioned road or that will oive preference to local routes
which intersect with said road, other than by the erection or installation of "slow" and/or "caution" signs or
signals, or that will slow up, ul1I'eaaotlably hinder, or delay traffic on said above-mentioned road, and that it
w11l, by suitable resolution, adopt the orades of the improvement as the grades of the county road that is in-
volved, and hereby aqreell to proteot the State of Washington against any and aU olaims for damages on lICcount
of changes of grades and the oonstt'Uction of this improvement, and hereby further agrees to maintain said improve
mont within the limits of the (Jounty Qf Jefferson after this improvement has been completed.
