In the matter of County Road No. 38 Resolution to improve road from Airport cutoff to 4 -comers IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO UNTY COMMISSIONERS that it is their intention to improve 1.33 miles of county road No. 38 by grading, draining and surfacing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT for the foregoing proper county road purpose there is hereby appropriated sums in the following detail: Gas Tax Funds Other Total Donations, etc. Local Engineer Right of Way Items of work: Da I' Labor Contract Constr. Engineer $ 4,000.00 $ 4,000.00 Total $ 4 ,000.00 $ 4.000.00 The county road purpose herein described is HEREBY DECIARED to be a public recessity and the County Road Engineer is HEREBY ORDERED AND AUTHORIZED TO report and preceed thereon as by Law provided. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this purpose be performed by day labor in accordance with the Standard Road and Bridge Specificatlons of the State of Washington as adopted by this Board. County Auditor and Ex-offiCio Clerk of the Board /s/ Walter A. Kelly. Member Mr. Charles Little, Developer of Protection Island, appeared re: Boat Access at Gardiner. This access has been used by Developers and land owners of Protection Island, and the Port of Port Townsend feels their landing craft is much too large and heavy for this access and may do damage to the beach. Access property is leased to Port from Johnson & Gunstone, and lease is in jepardy of being cancelled should any damage be incurred. No problem with small boata. Chairman O'Meara suggested they work with the Port to enlarge the ramp. Mr. Howard Dent donated property for car pal"king lot and there have been no complaints on number of cars in lot, as yet. Board signod Contract with Owen's Brothers Const. Co. for construction of Alder and Maple Creek Bridgfls. Assessor, 1im Sofie, appeared to request that Chief Deputy, Lloyd Hansen, be sworn in as "Acting Assessor" until next election, due to his retirement. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commisfl1oner Huntingford to I!ppoint LloydL. Hansen illS "Acting Assessor". Unanimous by Board. Pros. Attny. Daly, acting as Notary Public, performed tho swallrinq in, Oa th of Office duty.
