Member Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to appoint Mr. Palmer J. McCarter as County Extension Agent for Jefferson County, as recommended by the College of Agriculture, Cooperative Ex- tension Service, Washington State University. Mr. McCarter will fill the vacancy crea ted by the retirement of Raymond W. Isle. Board received copy of letter to Mr. H.J. Carroll, Chairman, Jefferson County Ferry Users Advisory Committee, from State Highway C::>mmission. Letter stanted the Legislative Transportation Committee ,are jointly spon.sor- ing a cross-Sound transportation study for the purpose of consolidation of various routes of the system. Chair- man O'Meara stated this study is only from Edmonds south, Keystone is not included. :Mr. Norman Peterson, President, Evergreen Environmental Development Corp., Mr. Robert R. Newgard, President Evergreen Savings & Loan Association, and Mr. Robert Fakkema, Engineer, appeared regarding sewer agreement. Discussed letter of commitment from Highline Service Corp., who will be the actual lender. Chairman O'Meara questioned Privision 9 of the Agreement concerning the trust account. Agreement will be re-written before final signing. Public Hearing set for August 7th. Mr. Fred Houghton stated he is still against the county going into agreement with Evergreen. Commissioner Kelly stated he had discussed agreement with Pros. Attny. Daly, and he had advised that county get verification of water supply and purity. Entire water system has to be approved by the State Department of Health. Mr. . Peterson stated they are planning on 40,000 gal. tank and providing for additional tank. Chairman O'Meara received information via the telephone from the Health Department stating that on April 29, 1971, they received letter from Ken Merry, Supervisor, State Health Dept., syaing some data had been submitted, but no approval had been given as yet. Also, on J!.rly 7, 1971, chemical analysis had been given O.K. Mr. Peterson asks that Board accept letter of commitment for sewer, water and roads, and partial bond. No definate answer by the Board. Auditor, Betty Temple, requested the Board to assist in the clearing out of storage area on the upper floor of the courthouse and to designate what is to go to the Historical Society and what is to be disposed of. Board will assist but no definate date set. Public Hearing for Amendment to Regulation No.1, Ordinance No. 1-69, set for August 14, 1972. Notice w1l1 be published and posted. Request from Mr. and Mrs. John R. Fletcher and Robert A. Huelsdonk to set aside a certain section of their land for use as a ceeetary, received approval from the Board and Acting Assessor, Lloyd Hansen. Accepted as des- cribed by John R. Fletcher on July 21, 1972. Description as follows: Section 35, Township 27, Range 11 W.W. M ., Tax No.4. Auditor, Betty Temple, presented letter from Lee Miller, State Electrical Inspector, informing that the Courthouse is now using just about the full capacity of the existing main electrical service and recommends that no further load be added. Also recommends that a competent electrical engineer be consulted. Request from Seattle District Corps of Engineers that Board deSignate a position to receive all correspondence in regard to permits. I.ettel' will be sent notifying that all correspondence is to be forwarded to the Board of Commissioners. Board roviewed the following correspondence without comment: County trust land transmittal of funds for the amount of $2,047.50, from W. H. Pederson. Application for Class A,C ,E,F, liquor license for Gale W. Frary d/b/a Curley's Place, from State Liquor Board. Memorandum from Department of Social & Health Services re: Proposed State Board of Health Regula- tions for individual Sewage Disposal Systems. Copy of resolution relating to visual driVing aids, from Washington State Grange. Copy of letter to Randall M. Durant, District Sanitarian, from Kenneth J. Merry, State Department of Health ra: Olympic Inn Properties Water System. System was installed w'ithout the required approvals. Notica from the Department of Eoology that Clallam County Planning Commission has been designatod the "Basin Coordinating Agenoy" tor Basins No. 17,18,19 and 20. Letter from the Clallam.'Jefferson County Community Action Counoil, Ino. re: Funding for reotoration of the Courthouse through the State, Committee for Historic Preservation.
