Board received copy of letter irom Ciyde B. Rose ,J;>irector of Property Taxes, Department of Revenue, to Lloyd
Hansen, Acting Assessor, fe: Assessment Practices 1972 Tax Rolls. Letter states Cole, Layer & Trumble Co.
contracted by the county, used an assessment factor of 45% in valuating 5,268 parcels of land, in violation
of Article VII, Section 2 (17th. Amendment). Mr. Hansen presented letter to the Board of Equalization stating
it was decided to consider all values put on by CLT to be subject to a 10% economic reduction due to both the
indicated valuation base and the present economic position of sales in the county. He further states that the
ta,<payers involved with a 10% increase in value would have no means of defense for 1973 taxes. Board unani-
mously concurs with Acting Assessor Hansen. Letter w1l1 be written to the Department of Revenue upholding
Hansen's opinion.
Board received request for bond extension by Ed Miller, Developer of Pleasant Tides. Board granted extension
for one year to complete road, with the stipulation that road is to be graded and improved for the convenience of
the property owners.
Engineer Becker informed the Board that the Memorial Field Stadium Fund is in the red by $17,000.00, and
$18,000.00 is needed for Parks and Solid Waste Program. Advises that Board borrows $35,000.00 from the
County Road fund until December of this year. Board concurs.
Board reviewed Civll Notice No. 476-72C2; United States of America, Plaintiff vs 2.73 acres of land in Jeff-
erson County; Wilbur I. Snavely et us I et al , and unknown owners, Defendents.
There being no furthar business hefore the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

10:00a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present.
Mr. Joe Welch appeared re: Golf shots on Memorial Field. Field has been dug up by other golfers and conse-
quently field has been closed to golfers. Chairman O'Meara requested Mr. Welch to use mats, not the grass,
for his instruction classes. Bo:ud requested Mr. Welch to contact Karl Kuehn, grounds keeper at the field, and
inform him of their decision. They suggested also that Signs be posted against the USing of the green",
Resolution No. 28-72, Amendment to Regulation No.1, Ordinance No. 1-69. Discussion on repairs and/or re-
placement of septic tanks at Becket Point. Board feels requests of this nature should be channeled through tne
Health Department before coming to the Board. Motion by Commissioner Ke.l1y to approve and sign resolution.
Second by Commissi oner Hunting ford , with understanding that requests for variance go through the Health Depart-
ment. Unanimous by Board. Resolution as follows:

IN THE INTEREST OF THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SANITATION IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASH-
INGTON, THE FOLLOWING ARE PROPOSED CHANGES IN REGULATION NO.1, ADOPTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
JEFFERSON COtJ'NTY ORDINANCE NO. 1-69.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1-69, adopted the 20th. day of October, 1969, effective the 1st. day of
January, 1970, proceded Jefferson COlmty Platting Ordinance No. 2-1971, by one year effective date, and
WHEREAS, rtagulation No.1, Ordinance No, 1-69, also preoedod Platting Ordinanco No. 2-1971
by one year, and
WHEREAS, there are oonfliots betweon the two sets of requirements, and
