Mr. Palmer McCarter, County Agent, appeared to present a brochure on Taxes in Wa:;hington to the CommiSSion-
ers and to ask Commissioner Kelly if he would assist him in getting acquainted with the people in the West-end
of the County. Kelly said he would be glad to help in any way. Commissioner Huntingford informed Mr. McCar-
ter there is Tanzy-ragwart started in the county and requested that both he and Engineer Becker go along county
roads and eliminate this poisonous weed.
Mr. Bob Hays appeared re: Dangerous stretch of state highway on Hood Canal. Stated this area has been the
scene of three serious accidents the last few months and in his opinion, there should be a double line and a
"No Passing" sign. Engineer Becker will assist with this request and notify the State Highway Department.
Auditor, Betty Temple, informed Board that all necessary figures for the budget are still not available and re-
quests postponement of approval of preliminary budgets until October 16th. (RCW 36.40.071 for alternate date
for buElget hearings). Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly for postponement of
hearing date. Unanimous by Board. Resolution will be drawn lip for Board's Signature next Monday.
Letter from City Engineer re: Shoreline Management Permit for Admiralty Hotel. Advisory Commission will check
out proposed construction and inform of findings.
Board reviewed the follOWing correspondence without comment:
Two notices from the Department of Natural Resources: (1) County trust land transmittal of funds,
$189,000, from Simpson Timber Co. (2) Informing of new mapping system.
Latest proposed "Minimum Functional Standards on Solid Waste Handling" - WAC 173-301.
Notice from State Traffic Safety Commission re: Traffic Safety Requirements.
Notice from the Department of Transportation re: Transportation needs of Cities and States, of Region
