Kelly. Member Mr. Melvin Kivley appoured re: His plat at Hadlock. Final plans have never been presented for approval by the Board. Board advised that final must be approved before the sale of any lots. Board members Signed certified letter to the Governor stating they are unable to come to agreement on appoint- ment for County Assessor to replace retired Jim Sofie. Request that appointment be made by the Governor. Notice from the Department of Agriculture of $865,201.66 awarded to Jefferson County from Forest Funds for 1973. Board reviewed the follOWing correspondence without comment: Notice from the Department of Interior re: Initial Classification decision. Lots 12 & 13, Section 28, Township 30 North, Range 1 West. W.M., classified for disposal from federal ownership by state selection. Agenda from Intermediate School District No. 114, September 14, 1972. Minutes of Hood Canal Advisory Council Meeting, August 9, 1972. Olympic Air Pollution Control Authority Summary Activity Report, August, 1972. Memo from Employers Representative Association, Inc. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. i######i################### September 18, 1 10:00a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A.M.O'Meara with all members present. Hearing for Shoreline Management Permit for Department of Natural Resources for logging bridge on Shale Creek. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve. Unanimous by Board. Hearing for Shoreline Management Permit for Puget Sound Power and Light Co. for submarine cable unde:r Hood Canal between East Terminal, one mile N. W. of Silverdale, Kitsap County and West Terminal, 12 miles South of Dabob at Hazel Point. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve. Unanimous by Board.. Mrs. NOl'md Clique appeared re: Closure of county road through Sec. 10, T. 29, R. 1 W. W.M., running from road known as West Valley Road to Anderson !.ake Road. Mrs. Clique stated she wanted the roaq known as the West Valley Road, open, and notvacated. Feels closure would devaluate her property and possibly cause a fire hazard. Commissioner Huntingford 'stated Engineer Becker blocked off road due to berry pickers bus nearly hav- ing a very serious accident on the one bad corner and that road was closed for safety reasons. Becker sta red road is not closed, only has one end blocked off. Said road can be regraded and opened and it will be done as soon as possible, but it w!l1 not be opened untllit's safe. Satisfactory with Mrs. Clique. Board Signed contract with Owen's Brothers, Inc. for construction of Rock Creek Bridge. Becker informed Boord th3t parts of Center Road, Beaver Valley Intersection and Port Ludlow Intersection needs additional paving. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to Call for Bids, to be opened and read October 2nd. I Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntiggford to approve minutes of July 10, 1972, through September 11, 1972. Unanimous by Board. Notice will be sent of Board's approval. it Board received inquiry from the Secretary of the Treasurery for adequate titles and addresses of all receipients for Federal Revenue Shal"ing.
