I Assessor Hansen stated salaries were raised due to schooling and reclassification of appraisers. Mrs. Temple advised that RCW 36.40.040 allows the Board to raise the preliminary proposed figures as long as it does not exceed the millage. Motion by Commissioner Kelly to approve with the lowering of Clerk Hire, second by Com- missioner Huntingford. Unanimous. Auditor - total changed from $58,575.00 to $58,720.00 due to raise in Social Security pay- ments. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, secortd by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Election and Registration Revolving Fund - total lowered on salaries and wages from $7,500.00 to $6,500.00. Mrs. Temple advised that a great portion of this fund is reimbursable. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, socond by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Clerk - total changed from $17,249.00 to $17,285.00 due to raise in Social Security and Per- sonal Benefits payments. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unani- mous. Commissioners - total changed from $36,730.00 to $36,531. 00 due to typographical error on Commissioners salaries and raise in Personal Benefits. Disability Board (LEFF), Planning Commission, Tri-Counties Advisory Council, Shorelines Man- agement Survey Committee, OlympiC RegiDnal Planning Council - Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, to approve as presented, second by Commissioner Kelly, Unanimous. Courthouse - total changed from $29,907.82 to $30,123.00, due to raise in Social Security and Personal Benefits. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unani- manuous. West End Annex - no change. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Hunt- ingford to apprcwe. Unanimous. County Parks - Commissioner Huntingford stated he wanted 1/4th. mill cut from this budget. Motion by Commissioner Kelly to cut 1/4th. mill for a total of $32,169.00 and use $23,130.00 out of Revenue Sharing for a grand total of $55,299.00, second by Commissioner Huntingford. Unanimous. General Administration - total changed because of higher dues to the County Officials Associ- ation,from $34,123.15 to $34,130.20. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. District Court - total changed from $19,220.00 to $19,245.00 due to raise in Social Security payments. Entire amount reimbursable. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Prosecuting Attornfily - total changed from $18,789.00 to $17,912.00 due to eliminating Divorce Proctor ($1,000) and raise in Social Security and Retirement payments. Non Departmental - John Doubek, Director of Jefferson County Civil Defense, was ceilled in to explain the duties and need for Civil Defense in the county. Clallam-Jefferson County Community Action Council, Inc. was cut from $5,000.00 to $2,500.00. Historical Society total changed from $6,570.00 to $6,582. 00, due to raise in Social Security payments. Addition of $30,000.00 for Law Enforcement Communications Sys- tem for the Sheriff's Department. Grand total changed from $32,398.00 to $59,910.00. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Sheriff - total changed from $165,422.00 to $165,589.84, due to cut in salaries for Clerk- Matron (Annex) $2,040.00 to $1,800.00 and Quilcene Resident Clerk, $1,440.00 to $1,200.00; raise in SClC- ial Security payments and Sick or Disability Benefits from $21,809.01 to $22,456.84. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commisioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Juvenile Probation - total changed from $44,529.00 to $44,769.00 due to adjustments in salaries and wages, Social Security and detention room and board. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Superior Court - total changed from $22,649.00 to $23,410.00 due to increase in salary for Defense Mental Illness Counsel, $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 and increase in Sbcial Security payments. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to approve. Unanimous. Treasurer - total changed from $55,371.00 to $55,656.00 due to increase in Personal Benefits. Treasurer, Lillian Jacobsen, explained the need to purchase an NCR Posting Machine. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner Kelly to approve. Unanimous. Solid Waste - total changed from $46,935.00 to $46,995.00, due to increase in Personal Benefits. Engineer Becker explained the need for this program. Motion by Commisflioner Huntingford, second by Commissioner l<elly to approve. Unanimous. County Roads - preliminary budget does not include $20,000.00 reserve for loan repayment and $12,000.00 from Parks. Commissioner Huntingford stated that he wanted one mill cut ~rom t he road budget and that it could be takon off the construction program. Pros. Attny. Daly recommends that budget be adopted as presented. Motion by Commissioner Huntingford to approve road budqet with the reduction of one mill, second by Commissioner Kelly.
